Hear a recording backwards, then forwards, for the reverse singing challenge
Processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Checked against sources on 16 Oct 2026.The reverse singing challenge works in two steps: record a phrase, play it backwards, learn to sing the backwards version, then reverse your attempt to hear how close it comes. This page opens on Backwards, then forwards, so one file holds the reversed sound followed by the original for comparison. Each sample is mirrored exactly, nothing is uploaded, and the result downloads as a WAV.

Reversed sound is used in music production for swells and reverse cymbals, in sound design for eerie voices, in the reverse singing challenge, and by people checking a song for backmasked messages. All of them need the same thing: the samples played in the opposite order.

Drop the file on Reverse Audio, leave Play on Backwards and press Reverse audio. The page mirrors every sample, so the last moment plays first, and offers the result as a WAV to play and download. MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG and FLAC files up to 300 MB work.
Record a short phrase, reverse it, and learn to sing what you hear. Then record yourself singing the backwards version and reverse that recording: if you copied it well, the original phrase comes back. The Backwards, then forwards option puts both versions in one file for comparison.
Cut the part first with Audio Cutter, which saves the chosen stretch as its own file, then reverse that file here. To put a reversed passage back inside a longer recording, join the pieces in order with Merge Audio or arrange them in Audio Editor.
No. The audio is decoded, reversed and written by your own browser, and the WAV is created on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, so voice notes and private recordings stay with you. Closing the tab clears everything from memory.
