Take the sound out of a video and keep it exactly as it was recorded
Processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Updated on 24 Oct 2026.Extracting audio from a video here copies the existing AAC track out untouched instead of converting it, so the result is byte-for-byte identical and a 30-second soundtrack is written in under 10 milliseconds. The file is an .m4a, not an .mp3: no browser can encode MP3, and converting would compress the same sound twice.
Press Choose a video and pick an MP4, M4V or MOV file; it is read on your device, not uploaded.
Under Format, keep Keep it as it is to copy the sound out untouched, or pick Uncompressed WAV for an editor.
Read the note above the options: most videos hold AAC sound, which comes out as .m4a, and only a video that carries MP3 gives an .mp3.
Press Take the sound out, then Download to save the audio file.
Video To MP3 takes one video file and gives back the sound inside it, either all of it or a part you choose, without sending anything to a server.
The honest thing to say first is what comes back. Almost no MP4 contains MP3. Phone recordings, screen captures, downloads and editor exports nearly all carry AAC, so the fastest and cleanest result is to lift that track out exactly as it is and write it into an .m4a, which is the container AAC belongs in. No decoder runs, no encoder runs, and the sound is byte-for-byte what was already in the video. An .m4a opens in VLC, Windows Media Player, iTunes, every phone made in the last decade and every car stereo built since about 2010.
Converting it to a real .mp3 would need an MP3 encoder, and there is nowhere honest to get one. The browser's own AudioEncoder offers Opus and AAC and no MP3 at all. Every MP3 encoder library descends from LAME and is copyleft, which this site does not ship. Even if one were added, it would decode good AAC and compress it a second time to reach a worse format, so the download would sound slightly worse than the file you started with.
Two other outcomes are handled properly. A video that genuinely carries an MP3 track — older conversions do — gets a real .mp3, written by concatenating its frames with nothing in between. Anyone who needs uncompressed sound for an editor or a transcription tool can pick WAV, which decodes the track once at its own sample rate; a minute of stereo comes to about 11 MB.
Choosing a start and an end works on either path. Audio needs no keyframe, unlike video, because every AAC frame stands alone, so a cut lands within about 21 milliseconds of the time you typed.
Almost every MP4 carries AAC audio rather than MP3, and an .m4a is simply that AAC track in its own container. Copying it out keeps the sound identical to the video. Re-encoding it to MP3 would compress the same audio a second time, so the download would sound slightly worse than the original.
Yes. Every iPhone and Android, VLC, Windows Media Player, iTunes, WhatsApp and practically every car stereo built since about 2010 play .m4a. Renaming the file to .mp3 is never needed and usually confuses the player, because the name is not what tells software how to decode the sound.
Only when the video already contains an MP3 track, which some older conversions do; those frames are written straight out as a genuine .mp3. Otherwise no, because no browser can encode MP3 and every MP3 encoder library carries a copyleft licence this site does not ship.
Leave the format set to the default, which copies the existing track rather than converting it. Nothing is decoded and nothing is re-compressed, so a measured 30-second soundtrack came out in under 10 milliseconds and every frame sampled from the result was byte-for-byte the audio already inside the video.
Choose WAV when an editor, a transcription tool or audio software needs uncompressed sound. Decoding happens once at the track's own sample rate, so a minute of 48 kHz stereo comes to roughly 11 MB. The limit is 15 minutes per WAV, because a longer one needs more memory than a phone browser has.
Yes. Switch on the part-of-it control and type a start and an end. Audio needs no keyframe the way video does, because every AAC frame decodes on its own, so a cut lands within about 21 milliseconds of the time you asked for on either format.
No. Reading the file, finding the audio track and writing the result all happen inside this browser tab on your own device, and only the slices needed are ever read. A 1 GB recording never travels anywhere, and no watermark of any kind is added to what comes back.
Video se audio kaise nikale without installing anything: add the video, then press the button once. The sound is pulled out inside this page on your own phone or laptop, with no upload, no sign-up and no watermark. MP4, M4V and MOV files up to 1 GB are accepted.
