PDF to Word turns a PDF into a .docx file you can open and edit in Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice or Pages. It reads the text out of the PDF, works out where the lines, paragraphs, headings and bullet points were, and writes them back as real document structure instead of one long block you have to break up by hand.
People reach for it when the original file is gone. A resume saved as a PDF two jobs ago needs a new role added before Friday, and nobody can find the .docx it came from. A supplier sends a contract as a PDF and one clause has to be reworded before it goes back. Retyping is the alternative in both cases, and this saves it.
Everything happens in your browser. The file is read by code running on this page and never sent to a server, so a resume carrying your home address, or a statement carrying your account number, stays on your machine. Up to 5 PDFs at a time, each up to 50 MB and 300 pages. A password-protected PDF asks for its password in the file row and is read from there.
Be clear about what comes across. Words, paragraph breaks, headings, bullet lists and numbered lists survive. Exact spacing, images, tables, multiple columns, headers, footers and the original fonts do not: a PDF stores glyphs at coordinates, not a document you can reflow, so everything above is worked out from position, size and weight. A scanned page holds a picture of text and yields nothing at all. Check the result before you send it. To go the other way, use Word to PDF.
No, and no browser tool can promise that. A PDF records where each glyph sits, not which piece of text is a heading or a list, so this rebuilds the structure from position, size and weight. Words, paragraphs, headings and bullets come across; exact spacing, images, tables, columns and the original fonts do not. Plain single-column documents come out close. Designed ones do not.
No. A scanned or photographed page is an image of text, so there is no text inside the file to extract. The tool detects this and tells you rather than handing you an empty document. To get words out of a scan you need text recognition (OCR), which is a different job from conversion and is not part of this tool.
No. The PDF is read and the Word file is built by code running in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is stored, and no account is needed. You can switch your connection off after the page loads and the conversion still works, which is the simplest way to prove it to yourself.
Yes. The output is a standard .docx. Upload it to Google Drive and open it with Google Docs, or open it in Word, LibreOffice Writer, Pages or WPS. Headings arrive as real heading styles and bullets as real list items, so the outline and the list formatting work as they normally would.
Up to 5 PDFs at a time, each up to 50 MB and 300 pages. Long documents take longer because every page is read on your own device; a 300-page report takes a while on a phone. If a file is larger than the limit, split it first with Split PDF and convert the parts.
Because the text is read in the order the page gives it, line by line across the full width. On a two-column layout, a line from the left column and a line from the right column sit at the same height, so they end up in the same paragraph. There is no reliable way to detect columns from coordinates alone, so the tool says so up front instead of guessing.
PDF ko Word me badlein: drop the file and download the .docx. Words, paragraphs, headings and bullet lists come across; images, tables, columns, exact spacing and the original fonts do not, and a scanned PDF yields nothing because it holds a picture of text. Up to 5 files, each 50 MB and 300 pages.
