| Old name | New section | Limit |
|---|---|---|

| 80CCD(1B), own NPS | 124(3) | ₹50,000, on top of 80C |
| 80D, you and family | 126(2)(a) | ₹25,000, or ₹50,000 if a senior citizen is insured |
| 80D, parents | 126(2)(b) | ₹25,000, or ₹50,000 for senior citizens |

No. The new regime, which applies unless you choose the old one, allows none of 80C, 80CCD(1B) or 80D. The main deduction it keeps is the employer's NPS contribution under section 124(1), commonly called 80CCD(2). So these deductions are worth something only if the old regime works out cheaper for you; the income tax calculator compares the two.

The limit is ₹1,50,000 a year, now in section 123 of the Income-tax Act, 2025. EPF, PPF, ELSS, life insurance premium, home loan principal, tuition fees for up to two children, NSC, Sukanya Samriddhi, five-year tax-saving deposits and SCSS all share that one limit. Paying more than ₹1,50,000 in total gives no extra deduction.
No. Section 202 of the Income-tax Act, 2025 lets the new regime allow only a few deductions, chiefly the employer's NPS contribution under section 124(1), known as 80CCD(2). Your own 80C investments, 80CCD(1B) NPS and 80D health insurance count only if you choose the old regime for the year.
Up to ₹25,000 a year, or ₹50,000 if your parents are senior citizens, separate from the limit for yourself, spouse and children. So a person under 60 insuring senior-citizen parents can claim up to ₹75,000 in all, and someone who is a senior citizen with senior parents up to ₹1,00,000.
No. Up to ₹5,000 of health check-ups can be claimed, but inside the 80D limits, not on top of them, and the ₹5,000 covers you and your parents together. A check-up is the one 80D payment that may be made in cash; premiums must be paid by any other mode.
