Make signed rent receipts for an HRA claim, a month or a whole year at a time
Estimates only, not financial advice. What you type stays on your device. Checked against sources on 23 Oct 2026.An HRA claim needs receipts, and above 1,00,000 of rent in a year the landlord's PAN as well. Make signed receipts for a single month or a whole year, with a revenue stamp noted above 5,000 paid in cash. Generated on your device.
Rates and rules read from the sources listed on this page (the earliest on 23 Oct 2026); they may have changed since.
Enter "Your name, as the tenant", the "Landlord's name" and the "Address of the property".
Set "Rent each month", the "First month" and the "Last month".
Under "One receipt per", pick Month, Quarter or Year, and tick "Paid in cash" if you paid in cash.
Enter the "Landlord's PAN" if that box appears, which it does when the year's rent is above one lakh.
Press "Make 12 receipts" (the number follows your dates), check the preview, then press Download.
Rent Receipt Generator makes the receipts a payroll team asks for when you claim house rent allowance. You enter the rent, the months it covers, your name, the landlord's name and the address of the property, and every month comes out as its own receipt in one PDF, ready to print and sign.
Most people need this in December or January, when the employer's proof-of-investment window closes and a year of receipts is suddenly due at once. Receipts can be made month by month, by quarter, or for a whole year in one file. Each states who paid, who received, the amount in figures and in words, the period, the property address and how the rent was paid, with space for the landlord's signature.
Two figures decide what else belongs on the page, and they come from two different laws. The first is the landlord's PAN. CBDT Circular No. 8/2013 of 10 October 2013 says that where annual rent exceeds one lakh rupees it is mandatory to report the landlord's PAN to the employer, and that a landlord without a PAN must give a declaration instead. Exceeds, not reaches: a year at exactly one lakh is under the line. The declaration form has since changed twice, most recently to Form No. 124 in April 2026, and the income tax department's own site would not serve us that form to check the wording against, so the page says so rather than pretending otherwise.
The second is the revenue stamp, and it is not a tax rule at all. Article 53 of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 charges one rupee of duty on a receipt above five thousand rupees. No income-tax rule asks for a stamp, and an HRA claim is not refused for want of one. Nor does the Act mention cash: stamping only cash receipts is a habit, kept up because rent sent by transfer is proved by the bank statement anyway. The square appears here when you tick cash, because that is when somebody will ask.
A receipt only proves a payment if the payment happened. This produces the document, not the arrangement behind it. To find out what the claim itself is worth, use the HRA Exemption Calculator.
Everything is made on your device. The names, the address and the amounts stay in your browser, and nothing is uploaded or stored.
Enter the monthly rent, the first and last month you are claiming, your name, the landlord's name and the property address. Choose monthly, quarterly or the whole year, then download the PDF and have the landlord sign each receipt. Nothing is uploaded at any point.
The tenant's name, the landlord's name, the amount in figures and words, the period it covers, the property address, how the rent was paid and the landlord's signature. A receipt missing the period or the address is the one payroll teams send back, so each is filled in for you.
Once the rent for the financial year goes above one lakh rupees, the landlord's PAN must be reported with your HRA claim, and a landlord without one gives a declaration instead. At eighteen thousand a month you pass that in six months, so the page shows the running total and adds a PAN line.
Not for the tax claim. A one rupee stamp is stamp-duty law, charged on a receipt above five thousand rupees, and no income-tax rule makes it a condition of an HRA claim. Employers still ask for one on rent handed over in cash, so tick the cash box and the receipt leaves the square.
No. The receipts are drawn in your browser on your own device, so the landlord's name, the property address and the amounts never leave your computer or phone. There is no account and nothing on our side to delete afterwards.
Rent receipt kaise banaye, yeh seedha hai: rent, mahine, apna naam, landlord ka naam aur ghar ka pata daaliye, phir PDF download karke landlord se sign karwa lijiye. Whole year at once is one file, one page per month, and nothing is uploaded.
