Drop the MP3 here, type the right title and artist, and save: the player reads the new names from the tag. Tick Name the file to rename the download to Artist - Title.mp3 as well. The names a music player shows do not come from the file name. They come from an ID3 tag stored inside the MP3, usually at its very start. A file renamed to the right song can still play as Track 01 by Unknown Artist until that tag is fixed.

Checks. Track and disc must be a number or number/total, and the year four digits; the Save button waits until both are right.
The rest of the article, and all 6 questions about MP3 Tag Editor, are on the MP3 Tag Editor page.
Drop the MP3 on MP3 Tag Editor. Its current title, artist, album, year, track, genre, comment and cover appear in boxes. Change what is wrong and press Save MP3 with these tags. The file downloads with the new tags, and any music player reads the corrected names from it.
No. Only the tag at the start of the file is rewritten; every byte of audio behind it is copied exactly as it was. Nothing is decoded or re-encoded, so the song sounds identical and its bit rate, length and quality stay the same.
Many players keep a library of tags they have already read. After saving, replace the old file with the new one, then refresh the library or remove and add the song again. On a phone, restarting the music app usually makes it read the new tag.
No. The MP3 is read and rewritten by your own browser, and the new file is created on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, so unreleased songs and private recordings stay private. Closing the tab clears everything.
Rates and rules change; check the source before you rely on a figure.
