SIP, lumpsum, deposits, withdrawals and the goal behind them, compared side by side
Everything here runs in your browser. Files are never uploaded.Where should the next ten thousand rupees go every month? These calculators show what a mutual fund SIP, a one-time lumpsum, a PPF account or a bank recurring deposit grows to, using the formula each one really uses. Move a slider and every figure updates, so you can compare a guaranteed return with a market-linked one before you commit.
SIP Calculator shows a fixed monthly investment growing at an assumed return, with an optional yearly step-up. Lumpsum Calculator does the same for a one-time investment and can show the value after inflation.
PPF Calculator uses the government-set rate with yearly compounding over fifteen years, and shows the effect of depositing before the 5th of April. RD Calculator uses quarterly compounding, as Indian banks do. FD Calculator does a fixed deposit either way: left to compound to maturity, or paying interest out monthly or quarterly for someone living on it. Interest Calculator handles simple or compound interest on any sum at any rate, for the arrangements that come with no product behind them.
SWP Calculator is the mirror of a SIP: a fixed monthly withdrawal from a corpus, showing what is left each year and the month the money runs out. It is the calculation that matters after retirement and the one almost nobody does before.
Retirement Corpus Calculator starts from the income you want and works back to the corpus and the monthly SIP that reaches it. NPS Calculator does the same inside the pension system, splitting the lump sum from the part that must buy an annuity. Child Education Goal Calculator works to a fee on a known date, with education inflation entered separately because fees have risen faster than prices generally.
CAGR Calculator turns two values and a period into the yearly rate that connects them, which is the only fair way to compare investments held for different lengths of time. Inflation Calculator shows what today's prices become, what old money is worth now, and your real return after inflation. A deposit paying 7 per cent while prices rise 6 per cent has earned you 1 per cent, and that is the number worth knowing.
Market returns are assumptions, not promises; PPF, FD and RD rates are fixed for the period. Compare like with like: the same monthly amount, the same number of years, and a cautious return for anything market-linked. Remember that PPF is tax-free while deposit interest is taxed at your slab, which is a difference of several percentage points for anyone in a higher bracket. FD vs Mutual Fund does that comparison directly, after tax.
Every calculator shows its formula and the date of the rates it uses. Estimates only, not financial advice.
A SIP spreads purchases over time, which reduces the risk of investing everything at a market high. A lumpsum is fully invested sooner. Run both with the same total to see the difference.
PPF is guaranteed and tax-free but locked for fifteen years. An equity SIP has historically returned more over long periods, with ups and downs. Many people use both.
Only PPF and RD results follow a fixed rate, and even those change when the rate is revised. SIP and lumpsum results depend on the return you assume.
No. Results are before tax. PPF maturity is tax-free; RD interest and mutual fund gains are taxable.
