This lorem ipsum generator writes placeholder text in the amount you ask for: paragraphs, sentences, a number of words, or list items. Choose whether it starts with the familiar "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet", wrap it in HTML paragraph or list tags, and copy or download the result.
Designers use it to fill a layout before the real copy is ready, so the page can be judged on type, spacing and line length. Developers use it to test how a component handles a long title, an empty card or a list of fifty items. A set word count is useful when a design has to hold, say, a 60-word product description.
The words come from the traditional lorem ipsum vocabulary, which grew out of a passage in Cicero's De finibus written in 45 BC and has been used by typesetters since the 1500s. Sentences run six to fourteen words with the odd comma, and paragraphs four to seven sentences, so the text has a natural rhythm. It is generated in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
The HTML option produces clean markup: each paragraph in its own p tag, and list items inside a ul. Press Regenerate for a different version with the same settings, or Ctrl+Enter to copy. Replace placeholder text before publishing; search engines treat it as thin content. The Word Counter checks the length of the real copy when it arrives.

Yes. Switch off "Start with Lorem ipsum" and the text starts with a random sentence instead. The classic opening is on by default because it tells anyone reviewing the page that the text is a placeholder and still needs replacing.
Up to 50 paragraphs, 200 sentences, 5,000 words or 100 list items at a time. That is enough for a long article layout or a stress test of a component. For more, generate again and paste the parts together.
Yes. Search engines see placeholder text as low-value content, and pages that still carry it look unfinished to visitors. Use it only while designing and replace every block with real copy before the page goes live. Searching the page for "lorem" is a quick final check.
