Watermark PDF stamps text or an image across the pages of a PDF so every copy carries a mark. Type words such as DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL or a person's name, or upload your logo as a PNG or JPG. Set how faint it is, turn it to the diagonal, level or upright, and choose one mark in the centre or a repeated pattern across the whole page. The preview is the real page as it will be saved.
Common uses: marking a contract as DRAFT while it is still being negotiated, stamping salary slips and board papers as CONFIDENTIAL, putting a company logo on a price list, or writing "Copy for Mr Rao" across a document so a leaked copy can be traced. A tiled watermark is harder to crop out than one in the middle.
Text watermarks come in grey, red or blue and use Helvetica Bold, one of the fonts every PDF reader has. It covers English and Western European letters; for other scripts, make an image and upload it. A centred watermark shrinks to fit a small page rather than being cut off. Image watermarks keep their own colours, and PNG transparency is kept.
Be clear about what a watermark does: it deters copying and marks ownership, but anyone with a PDF editor can remove a mark drawn on top. To stop people opening the file, use Protect PDF as well. Everything runs in your browser, so the document never leaves your device. Files up to 100 MB and 2,000 pages work, and a protected PDF asks for its password and is saved without it.

Yes. Choose Image, upload a PNG or JPG of your logo, and set its size as a share of the page width, its strength and its position: any corner, an edge, the centre, or repeated across the page. A PNG with a transparent background looks best because only the logo shows.
Type CONFIDENTIAL, pick 45 degrees and red or grey, and keep it in the centre. A large centred word is shrunk automatically if the page is too small for it. Choose Tiled if you want the word repeated across the page so it cannot be cropped out.
Yes. Type the pages in the Pages box, for example 1-5 or 2, 4, 9-. Leave it empty to watermark every page. The preview shows the first page that will get the watermark.
No. The PDF is opened and the watermark is drawn inside your browser, on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, there is no queue, and nothing is kept after you close the tab.
A watermark drawn on top of a page can be removed with a PDF editor by someone who tries. It works as a deterrent and a visible label, not as protection. Use a faint tiled pattern to make removal tedious, and Protect PDF to stop the file being opened without a password.
