ZIP to PDF

files

Turn a ZIP of scans, photos or PDFs into one PDF, in file-name order, without unzipping

Processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Updated on 24 Oct 2026.

ZIP to PDF turns a ZIP of pictures or PDFs into one PDF in your browser. Files are added in natural name order, so scan 2 comes before scan 10, and every skipped file is listed with its reason. ZIPs up to 500 MB and 500 files work, and nothing is uploaded.

How to convert a ZIP to a PDF

1

Press Select ZIP or drop the ZIP on the page; its list of files is read on your device.

2

Check the order: pictures and PDFs are listed by name in natural order, and skipped files say why.

3

Choose the page size for pictures: A4, Letter or the size of each picture.

4

Press Create PDF, then Download to save the single PDF.

About ZIP to PDF

Scans, receipts and photos often arrive as a ZIP: a scanner's export, a folder sent by email, a download of a phone album. Turning that into one PDF normally means unzipping, sorting and dragging files into another tool. Here the ZIP goes in as it is.

Order. Files are sorted by name the way people count: page 9, page 10, page 11, not page 1, page 10, page 11. Folders are sorted the same way, and files inside a folder stay together. The list on the screen shows the exact order before anything is made.

What goes in.

In the ZIP In the PDF
JPG, PNG placed as they are, no quality lost
GIF, WebP, BMP, HEIC, AVIF converted to high-quality JPG, one page each
TIFF one page for every page of the TIFF
PDF every page copied, at its own size
anything else listed as skipped, with the reason

Page size. Pictures can fill an A4 or Letter page, turned to portrait or landscape to match each picture, or each page can be the size of its picture. PDF pages keep their own size.

Honest about skips. Each file is checked by its contents, not only its name, so a text file named photo.jpg is skipped rather than producing a broken page. Password-protected PDFs and damaged PDFs are listed with the tool that can help.

Private. The ZIP is read one file at a time in your browser, and the PDF is made on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a ZIP file to PDF?

Drop the ZIP on ZIP to PDF. The page reads its list of files in your browser, puts the pictures and PDFs in file-name order and shows the plan. Choose a page size for the pictures, press Create PDF, and download one PDF with a page for every picture and every page of every PDF.

In what order are the pages?

File names are sorted the way people count, so scan 2 comes before scan 10, folder by folder. That matches how phones and scanners number their files. To change the order, rename the files inside the ZIP, for example with a leading number, and add the ZIP again.

Which files inside the ZIP can be added?

JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, BMP, TIFF, HEIC and AVIF pictures, and PDF documents. A multi-page TIFF adds all its pages. Anything else, such as text files, Word files or a ZIP inside the ZIP, is listed as skipped with the reason, and so are password-protected PDFs.

Are JPG photos compressed again?

No. JPG and PNG pictures are placed into the PDF exactly as they are stored, so nothing is lost and the file stays about the size of the pictures. Other formats, such as HEIC or WebP, are converted to high-quality JPG first, because a PDF cannot hold them directly.

Why were some files skipped?

Every skipped file is listed with its reason: not a picture or a PDF, empty, larger than 100 MB, password-protected, or contents that do not match the name. Hidden system files that Mac and Windows add to ZIPs, such as __MACOSX and Thumbs.db, are skipped quietly because they are not part of the content.

Is my ZIP uploaded?

No. The ZIP is unpacked one file at a time inside your browser, and the PDF is written on your device by pdf-lib. Nothing is sent to a server, so scanned identity documents and private photos stay private. Closing the tab clears everything from memory.
