This calculator works out the finiquito, the final settlement every employee in Spain is owed when a job ends, whatever the reason: resignation, the end of a temporary contract or dismissal.
Extra payments. If you are paid in 14 payments, the part of each extra payment accrued and not yet paid is owed. With prorated payments nothing more is owed.
A worked example. 24,000 euros in 14 payments, started in 2024, last day 15 October 2026, 30 holiday days with 10 taken: salary 857.10 euros, holidays 13.67 days × 65.75 = 898.80 euros, summer payment 502.55 and Christmas payment 1,352.65 euros. Total 3,611.10 euros.

Three parts: the salary of the days worked in the final month and not yet paid, the holidays earned this year and not taken, and the accrued part of the extra payments when they are not prorated. Leaving on 15 October 2026 on 24,000 euros in 14 payments, with 10 holiday days taken, the three come to 3,611.10 euros.
Yes. The finiquito is owed whenever the contract ends, including a voluntary resignation, because it pays what you have already earned: salary, holidays and extra payments. What a resignation does not give is severance. The employee who resigns must still give the notice set by the collective agreement or local custom.
No. The finiquito settles what you earned up to the last day and is owed on every termination. Severance (indemnización) compensates the loss of the job and is due only in some cases: 33 days a year for unfair dismissal, 20 for an objective dismissal and 12 at the end of a temporary contract. Work it out separately with the severance calculator.
Each extra payment accrues day by day over its period, set by the collective agreement: commonly 1 July to 30 June for the summer payment and the calendar year for Christmas. The part accrued and unpaid on your last day is owed. If your extras were prorated in 12 payments, each payslip already included them.
