This calculator follows a Spanish employee's salary for 2026 from gross to net. It is built for a single person under 65 with no children, on a permanent contract, living in the Comunidad de Madrid or Andalucía, with salary as the only income.
Social security comes first. The employee pays 4.70% for common contingencies, 1.55% for unemployment, 0.10% for vocational training and 0.15% for the intergenerational equity mechanism, 6.50% in all, on pay up to the 2026 maximum base of €5,101.20 a month. Above that base the 2026 solidarity contribution adds 0.19% to 0.24% of the excess.
Then IRPF. From the salary the calculator takes the social security paid and the fixed €2,000 for other expenses. Low salaries also get the work-income reduction of up to €7,302. What remains is taxed twice: at the state scale, 9.5% to 24.5%, and at the community's scale, 8.5% to 20.5% in Madrid and 9.5% to 22.5% in Andalucía. Each part is reduced by the same scale applied to the personal minimum, €5,550 for the state, €5,956.65 in Madrid and €5,790 in Andalucía.
The 2026 minimum-wage deduction. Since 2026, gross pay up to €17,094 gets a deduction of €590.89, tapering to nothing at €20,048.45, so a full-time minimum wage pays no IRPF.
What it does not do. It shows the tax due in the annual return, not the monthly withholding your payslip shows. It leaves out regional deductions, children and family minimums, joint returns, the minimum contribution base for your professional group, temporary contracts, the regime for workers moving to Spain and the Basque Country and Navarre. The regional scales are those AEAT published for 2025, with no 2026 change found. Figures were read on 29 September 2026 at BOE, AEAT and Seguridad Social pages listed on the page. An estimate, not tax advice.
In Madrid in 2026, a €30,000 salary pays €1,950 in social security and about €4,598 in IRPF, leaving roughly €23,452 a year. That is about €1,954 a month over twelve payments or €1,675 over fourteen. In Andalucía the IRPF is slightly higher, about €4,862, because its scale and personal minimum differ.
The state half runs 9.5% up to €12,450, 12% to €20,200, 15% to €35,200, 18.5% to €60,000, 22.5% to €300,000 and 24.5% above. The regional half depends on the community: Madrid charges 8.5% to 20.5% and Andalucía 9.5% to 22.5%. Both scales apply to the taxable base after the personal minimum.
Employees on a permanent contract pay 6.50% of their pay: 4.70% common contingencies, 1.55% unemployment, 0.10% vocational training and 0.15% MEI. The base stops at €5,101.20 a month in 2026, about €61,214 a year. Above it, a small solidarity contribution of 0.19% to 0.24% applies to the excess.
No. The 2026 minimum wage is €17,094 a year, and a deduction set at €590.89 for 2026 cancels the IRPF on it. The deduction shrinks by 20 cents per euro above €17,094 and disappears at €20,048.45, so salaries in that range pay a reduced amount.
Employers withhold IRPF each month at a rate set by the AEAT formula, which estimates the year from your contract and situation. This calculator shows the tax actually due in the annual return. The difference is paid or refunded when you file, usually between April and June of the following year.
Madrid and Andalucía, whose scales were read at AEAT and regional sources with no 2026 change found. Other communities set their own scales and minimums, and Valencia changed its scale for 2026, so they are not offered yet. The Basque Country and Navarre have separate tax systems and are not covered.
