When a job ends in Mexico, everyone is owed a finiquito: what was already earned. A dismissal without cause adds a liquidación: the compensation for losing the job. This page computes both from the daily salary and the two dates, each part on its own line, under the Ley Federal del Trabajo.
Finiquito (always). The proportional aguinaldo of the calendar year, at least 15 days of salary a year (article 87). The vacation days of the year in progress in proportion to the time since your last work anniversary, plus any days owed from earlier years, each with the 25% prima vacacional (article 80). Since 2023 the first year earns 12 days, then two more a year up to 20 in the fifth, and two more every five years after that.
On resignation the prima de antigüedad is due only after 15 years of service.

The finiquito is what every worker who leaves has already earned: proportional aguinaldo, vacation days not taken and their 25% prima vacacional. The liquidación is added only on a dismissal without cause: three months of salary and the prima de antigüedad, and in some cases 20 days per year.
Twelve days of salary for each year of service (article 162), with part years in proportion. The salary used may not exceed double the daily minimum wage of your zone (article 486): 630.08 pesos in 2026, or 881.74 pesos in the northern border zone.
Only after at least 15 years of service (article 162, fraction III). A dismissal earns it at any seniority, whether the dismissal was justified or not. On resignation before 15 years the settlement is the finiquito alone.
Since the 2023 reform of article 76: 12 days in the first year, then 14, 16, 18 and 20 in the fifth; 22 days from the sixth to the tenth year, and two more every five years. On leaving, the year in progress is paid in proportion, with a 25% prima vacacional.
