Vacation days since 2023. Article 76 of the Ley Federal del Trabajo, reformed in December 2022 ("vacaciones dignas"), gives at least 12 working days after the first year of service, two more each year up to 20 days after five years, and from the sixth year two more for every five years: 22 days for 6 to 10 years, 24 for 11 to 15, and up to 32 days after more than 30 years. At least 12 of them must be taken in a row (article 78), and they cannot be swapped for money while the job lasts (article 79).
The prima vacacional. Article 80 adds a premium of at least 25% of the salary paid for the vacation days. Formula: days × daily salary × 25%. Many contracts give more; type the percentage they set.
Part of a year. If the job ends before the anniversary, the worker is owed vacations in proportion to the time worked (article 79): the days of the year in progress × days since the anniversary ÷ 365. The finiquito calculator adds them to the other final payments.
Income tax. Article 93 of the Ley del ISR exempts the prima vacacional paid in a calendar year up to 15 days of the unit of account; with the UMA of 117.31 pesos that is 1,759.65 pesos. The rest is taxed with the salary. The vacation pay itself is ordinary salary.

Article 76 of the Ley Federal del Trabajo gives 12 days after the first year, then 14, 16, 18 and 20 days after the fifth year. From the sixth year the days rise by two every five years: 22 days for 6 to 10 years, 24 for 11 to 15, up to 32 after 30 years.
Multiply the vacation days by the daily salary and then by the premium, which article 80 sets at no less than 25%. A worker with 12 days on 500 pesos a day earns 6,000 pesos of vacation pay and a prima vacacional of 1,500 pesos, paid on top.
The 12 days are earned at the first anniversary. A worker who leaves before it is still owed the proportional part (article 79): 12 days times the days worked divided by 365. After six months that is about 6 days, with their 25% premium, paid with the finiquito.
Article 93 of the Ley del ISR exempts the prima vacacional paid in a calendar year up to 15 days of the unit of account, which with the 2026 UMA of 117.31 pesos is 1,759.65 pesos. Any amount above that is added to the salary and taxed with it.
No. Article 79 says vacations cannot be compensated with pay while the job lasts; they must be taken, at least 12 days in a row under article 78, within six months after each anniversary (article 81). Only when the job ends are untaken days paid out.
No. The premium is 25% of the salary that corresponds to the vacation days, the ordinary daily salary. The integrated salary works the other way round: the prima vacacional is one of the benefits that raise the salario diario integrado the IMSS uses.
