Save every picture from Word, PowerPoint or Excel files at original quality, in one zip
Processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Checked against sources on 17 Oct 2026.Extract Images from Word, PPT, Excel opens .docx, .pptx, .xlsx, .odt, .odp and .ods files in your browser, up to 20 files of 300 MB, and saves every picture inside at its original quality, named by slide, sheet or order of appearance, in one zip. Nothing is re-compressed and nothing is uploaded.
Press Select documents and pick one or more .docx, .pptx, .xlsx, .odt, .odp or .ods files.
Every picture is listed with a preview, its size and where it is used, such as Slide 3.
Press Download all to save them in one zip, or save a single picture from its row.
The pictures are the original files inside the document, so their quality is not reduced.
A modern Office file is a ZIP package, and every picture you insert is kept inside it as its own file. Copying a picture out of Word or PowerPoint gives you a re-rendered copy at screen size; this page takes the original file out instead.
What you get.
| Document | Where pictures are found | How each is labelled |
|---|---|---|
| Word (.docx), OpenDocument text (.odt) | word/media, Pictures | Picture 1, 2, 3 in reading order; Header or Footer |
| PowerPoint (.pptx), Impress (.odp) | ppt/media, Pictures | Slide 3; Slide layout or master |
| Excel (.xlsx), Calc (.ods) | xl/media, Pictures | Sheet name |
File names follow the same order, such as deck-04-slide07-image12.png, so the zip sorts the way the document reads.
The real format, not the name. Office sometimes stores a JPEG under a .png name. Each picture's format is read from its first bytes, and it is saved with the right extension. Width and height are read from the picture's own header.
Vector drawings. Diagrams pasted from Visio or older Office versions are often EMF or WMF. Browsers cannot show those, so there is no preview, but the files are saved and open in Office, LibreOffice and Inkscape.
What is left out. Embedded objects such as a spreadsheet inside a Word file are not pictures and are skipped. The small preview Office saves of the first page is listed separately and is off by default. Linked pictures that live outside the file cannot be extracted.
Old and locked files. A .doc, .ppt or .xls from before 2007 is not a ZIP package; save it as .docx, .pptx or .xlsx first. A password-protected file must be opened in Office and saved without the password.
Tested with 300 generated packages whose pictures must come back byte for byte, in order. Nothing is uploaded.
Select the .docx on this page. Every picture inside is listed with a preview, its size in pixels and its place in the document. Press Download all and they save in one zip, at the quality they were inserted, named in reading order so the zip sorts like the document.
Select the .pptx file. Each picture is labelled with the slide that uses it, such as Slide 7, and the file names start with the slide number. Download all saves them in one zip; a single picture can be saved from its own row.
Yes. Copying or saving a picture from inside Office gives a copy rendered at screen size, often smaller and re-compressed. This page saves the original file stored inside the document, byte for byte, so a 4000-pixel photo stays 4000 pixels and keeps its original format.
Those are EMF or WMF vector drawings, common in diagrams pasted from Visio or older Office versions. Browsers cannot display them, so no preview appears, but they are still saved and open in Word, PowerPoint, LibreOffice and Inkscape at full sharpness.
Not directly. Files from before Office 2007 use an older binary format that is not a ZIP package. Open one in Office or LibreOffice, save it as .docx, .pptx or .xlsx, and select the new file. OpenDocument files (.odt, .odp, .ods) work as they are.
No. The documents are opened by your own browser and the pictures are taken out on your device. Reports, slides and photos never reach a server, and nothing remains once the tab is closed.
