Every point of a GPS track in a spreadsheet: latitude, longitude, elevation and time
Processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Checked against sources on 16 Oct 2026.A GPX file from a watch, bike computer or phone app holds every recorded point of a ride, run or hike, but only mapping software can read it. This page opens set to CSV: one row per point with latitude, longitude, elevation in metres and the UTC time, plus waypoints and route points marked by type, so the data drops into Excel or Google Sheets for charts and analysis. Nothing is uploaded.

GPS data moves between apps that each prefer a format: watches and bike computers write GPX, Google Earth reads KML, web maps want GeoJSON, and spreadsheets want CSV. Converting between them should not mean uploading a route that starts at your front door.
| From the file | GPX | KML | GeoJSON | CSV |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Waypoints | wpt | Placemark Point | Point | type waypoint |
| Routes | rte | LineString | LineString | type route |
| Tracks | trk, one trkseg per segment | LineString or MultiGeometry | LineString or MultiLineString | type track, segment number |
| Elevation | ele | third coordinate | third position value | elevation_m |
| Time | time | (Google tracks only) | coordTimes | time |
Reading accepts GPX 1.0 and 1.1 and KML 2.2, including Google Earth's recorded tracks with a time on every point. The file's type is recognised from its content, not its name.

Drop the GPX file on GPX Converter, leave Convert to on KML and press Download. Tracks become lines, routes become lines and waypoints become placemarks, with names, descriptions and elevations kept. The KML opens in Google Earth and Google My Maps. Files up to 100 MB are converted in the browser.
Yes. Drop the KML file and choose GPX. Placemark points become waypoints and lines become tracks; Google Earth's recorded tracks keep their time stamps. The GPX 1.1 file opens in Garmin, Strava, Komoot and most GPS apps, though some apps only import the first track.
The distance between each pair of recorded points is calculated with the haversine formula on a sphere of the Earth's mean radius, 6,371 km, and added up. That is within half a per cent of measurements on the WGS 84 ellipsoid. Gaps between track segments, such as a paused recording, are not counted.
One row per point: its type (waypoint, route or track), the name of its track or waypoint, the segment number, latitude, longitude, elevation in metres and time. Waypoints come first. The file opens in Excel or Google Sheets for charts of speed, pace or elevation.
