Split an image into a grid, strips or equal tiles and download every piece in one zip
Processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Updated on 24 Oct 2026.An image splitter that cuts one picture into a grid of up to 20 by 20, into 2 to 50 strips, or into tiles of a fixed pixel size. Grid lines show on the preview first, and every piece downloads in one zip, in reading order or Instagram posting order. The picture is split in your browser, never uploaded.
Drop the picture on the page or press Select an image; it opens on your device and nothing is uploaded.
Choose a grid such as 3 × 3, or switch to Strips or Fixed tiles, and watch the lines on the preview.
Pick a tile shape if every piece must be square or portrait; the edges that do not fit are trimmed evenly.
Press Split image, check the numbered pieces, then download them all as one zip.
Image Splitter cuts one picture into equal pieces and saves each piece as its own file. Choose a grid of rows and columns, a number of horizontal or vertical strips, or a fixed tile size in pixels, and the preview draws the cut lines and numbers on your picture before anything is saved.
Equal pieces, no gaps. Pieces meet exactly and cover every pixel. When the picture does not divide evenly, the pieces differ by at most one pixel: 1,000 pixels in three columns become 333, 334 and 333. Fixed-size tiles start at the top-left corner, and the last row and column keep whatever is left.
Tile shape. Choose square, 4:5 or 3:4 portrait pieces and the largest centred part of the picture that gives every piece that shape is used, with the rest trimmed evenly from both sides. A 3 by 1 row of squares from a 4,000 by 3,000 photo keeps the middle 4,000 by 1,333 pixels.
Instagram. A grid post on a profile is a picture cut into 3, 6 or 9 pieces and posted in reverse, because the newest post appears top-left. Number for Instagram posting order and piece 1 is the bottom-right one, the first to post. The profile shows three posts in a row, so keep three columns. For a panorama carousel, cut one row and post the slides in reading order.
Files. JPG, PNG and WebP keep their format and quality; HEIC and other formats are saved as JPG, GIF and AVIF as PNG. Up to 400 pieces from one image of up to 50 MB, all downloaded as one zip with numbers padded so they sort correctly.
Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded. To join pictures into one instead, use Collage Maker.
Drop the image, choose the number of rows and columns, or switch to strips or fixed tiles, and check the lines on the preview. Press Split image and download the zip. Pieces meet exactly and differ by one pixel at most when the size does not divide evenly.
Choose Instagram 3 × 3 and turn on Number for Instagram posting order. Post piece 1 first and piece 9 last, because Instagram shows the newest post top-left. Keep three columns: the profile shows three posts in a row, so any other width will not line up.
A tile shape such as square or 4:5 was chosen, so the largest centred area that gives every piece that shape is kept and the rest is trimmed evenly. Choose Original shape to keep the whole picture; the pieces then have the picture's own proportions.
No pixels are resized: every piece is an exact cut-out of the original. PNG pieces are lossless. JPG and WebP pieces are saved again at the quality on the slider, 92 by default, which is very hard to tell from the original picture.
Up to 400 pieces: a grid of up to 20 rows by 20 columns, 2 to 50 strips, or fixed tiles of 16 pixels and up. The image can be up to 50 MB. All the pieces download together in one zip, numbered so they sort in order.
No. The picture is cut by your own browser on your device and the zip is built there too, so the image never reaches a server. The page works offline once loaded, and camera details such as location are not copied into the pieces.
