Cut one photo into 3, 6 or 9 posts that join into one picture on your Instagram profile

Updated on 24 Oct 2026.A profile that shows one big picture across several posts is made by cutting the picture into pieces and posting them in reverse, because the newest post appears top-left. This page cuts a photo into a 3 by 1, 3 by 2 or 3 by 3 grid and numbers the files in the order to post them. The pieces are 4:5 portrait, which suits the taller profile grid better than squares.
Add the photo; it opens as a 3 × 3 grid of 4:5 portrait pieces, numbered in posting order.
Switch to 3 × 1 or 3 × 2 for one or two rows; the middle of the photo is kept and the edges trimmed evenly.
Press Split image and download the zip of numbered pieces.
Post piece 1 first and the last piece last, so the picture reads correctly on your profile.
Image Splitter cuts one picture into equal pieces and saves each piece as its own file. Choose a grid of rows and columns, a number of horizontal or vertical strips, or a fixed tile size in pixels, and the preview draws the cut lines and numbers on your picture before anything is saved.
Instagram. A grid post on a profile is a picture cut into 3, 6 or 9 pieces and posted in reverse, because the newest post appears top-left. Number for Instagram posting order and piece 1 is the bottom-right one, the first to post. The profile shows three posts in a row, so keep three columns. For a panorama carousel, cut one row and post the slides in reading order.
Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded. To join pictures into one instead, use Collage Maker.

Choose Instagram 3 × 3 and turn on Number for Instagram posting order. Post piece 1 first and piece 9 last, because Instagram shows the newest post top-left. Keep three columns: the profile shows three posts in a row, so any other width will not line up.
No pixels are resized: every piece is an exact cut-out of the original. PNG pieces are lossless. JPG and WebP pieces are saved again at the quality on the slider, 92 by default, which is very hard to tell from the original picture.
Up to 400 pieces: a grid of up to 20 rows by 20 columns, 2 to 50 strips, or fixed tiles of 16 pixels and up. The image can be up to 50 MB. All the pieces download together in one zip, numbered so they sort in order.
No. The picture is cut by your own browser on your device and the zip is built there too, so the image never reaches a server. The page works offline once loaded, and camera details such as location are not copied into the pieces.
