Sample JPG, PNG or WebP files at fixed sizes, with the exact byte count, for upload tests
Processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Updated on 24 Oct 2026.Get a sample image file for testing an upload form, an image pipeline or a size limit. It opens on a 1920 × 1080 JPG with noise, because plain colour compresses to almost nothing and a real photo does not. After each download the page states the exact size in bytes, so you know whether the file sits under or over the limit you are checking. These are made-up test pictures, never photographs, and nothing is uploaded.
| Size | Pixels | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| 1200 × 630 | 756,000 | Open Graph image for Facebook, LinkedIn and chat apps |
| 1280 × 720 | 921,600 | YouTube thumbnail |
| 1920 × 1080 | 2,073,600 | Full HD screen, slide or video frame |
| 3840 × 2160 | 8,294,400 | Ultra HD screen |
Tap the size you need, for example HD 1920 × 1080 or 4K 3840 × 2160.
Choose JPG, PNG or WebP; the page opens on JPG with noise, so the file is a realistic size.
Press Download and read the exact number of bytes the file has.
Upload it to the form or app you are testing, and switch to PNG or 4K for a larger file.
Placeholder Image Generator makes a stand-in picture for a layout, a mockup, a slide or a test: a coloured rectangle of exactly the size you need, with the size written across it, such as "1200 × 630". Designers drop it into a frame before the real artwork exists, developers use it to check that a page reserves the right space, and testers use it to see how a form handles a picture of a given size and type.
Colours come from a named palette or the colour picker; the text colour follows the background so the label stays readable. Replace the label with your own words, hide it for a blank image, or add a grid, checks, stripes or noise under More options. Noise matters for upload tests: a plain colour compresses to a few kilobytes, while a noisy JPG at HD size behaves more like a photograph.
PNG, JPG and WebP are painted on a canvas on your device. SVG is written as text, so it stays sharp at any zoom and can be copied straight into HTML; the label is escaped, so whatever you type is shown as text and can never become code. After each download the page states the exact file size in bytes.

Tap one of the common sizes or type the width and height in pixels, choose PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG, then press Download. The picture shows its own size as a label, such as 1200 × 630, unless you type other words or hide the label for a blank image.
Yes. Choose SVG and press Copy SVG to put the markup on your clipboard, or Download to save an .svg file. An SVG stays sharp at any zoom and is usually under one kilobyte. Any label you type is escaped, so it always appears as text and cannot turn into code.
A picture of one colour compresses extremely well, so even a 4K PNG can be tiny. For an upload test that needs a realistic file, open More options and choose Noise: a 1920 × 1080 JPG with noise is several hundred kilobytes, and the page states the exact byte count after each download.
Each side can be 1 to 8,192 pixels, and the whole picture at most 16,777,216 pixels, the 4096 × 4096 a phone browser can draw. Labels are up to 80 characters. JPG has no transparency, and noise needs PNG, JPG or WebP because an SVG has no pixels to vary.
