Make the background of a picture clear and save it as a PNG
Processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Updated on 24 Oct 2026.Transparency is something a PNG has and a JPG does not, which is why a logo saved as a JPG always turns up with a white box around it. This page removes the box: the subject is kept, every other pixel is set to fully clear, and the file is saved as a PNG so the transparency survives. Pick a solid colour or a blur instead if a clear background is not what the design needs.
Add the logo or picture with the white box around it; Background is already set to Clear.
Keep Save as on PNG, or pick WebP for a smaller file that still keeps the transparency.
Press Remove background, then use the brush under the result to fix any spots the cut missed.
Press Download PNG to save the picture with a transparent background.
Remove Background separates the subject of a picture from everything behind it and gives you back a PNG. The background can be left fully clear, filled with a colour you choose, or blurred so the original scene is still there but out of focus. Drag the slider on the result to compare it against the picture you started with.
The cut is made by a neural network that reads your picture at 1024 by 1024 pixels. On a computer whose browser can use its graphics chip, the default is Best (BiRefNet-lite, 109 MB): it keeps whole figures, faces and clothing that the other models can leave see-through, and takes about 20 seconds a picture on a laptop's built-in graphics. Everywhere else, including every phone, the default is Detailed (IS-Net, 44.6 MB), a few seconds with a graphics chip and 10 to 40 seconds without one. Quick (U2-Netp, 4.4 MB) is faster and softer. After the model, the edge is rebuilt at your picture's full size from its own outlines, and the old background's colour is taken out of half-transparent edge pixels, so a cut-out from a sunset does not keep an orange rim. Each model is downloaded once and kept on your device.
Accuracy still depends on the picture. Hair, fur, smoke, glows, glass and motion blur come out approximate, because those pixels are part subject and part background. On drawings, smoke and soft shapes that fade into the scene are often dropped; Best also tends to drop title text and props that Detailed keeps, so try Detailed when you want those. The edge control decides how uncertainty is resolved, and the brush fixes what the model missed.

Add a picture, wait for the model to download the first time, and press Remove background. The subject is kept and everything else is cleared, then you download a PNG. Nothing costs money, no account is needed, and no watermark is added to the result.
Yes. Choose Colour and pick white, or any other shade, and the subject is composited onto it. Choose Blur to keep the original scene but throw it out of focus, which suits portraits. The file is always saved as a PNG so a clear background stays clear.
Wire or bars in front of the subject, a blurred close-up, and anything semi-transparent like glass, smoke or a glow all confuse the models. On drawings, Best keeps the figures but can drop title text and props; Detailed keeps more of those. Switch Model for a second opinion, or fix the cut with the brush.
Photo ka background hatao: add a picture, wait for the model to download the first time, then press Remove background. You get a PNG with the background cleared, filled with a colour, or blurred. Ten pictures at a time, each up to 30 MB. Hair, glass and smoke come out approximate.
