The daily reference salary (SJR). Your gross pay over the reference period divided by its calendar days. With steady pay it is your monthly salary × 12 / 365, so 2,500 euros a month gives 82.19 euros.
The gross allowance. 40.4% of the SJR plus a fixed 13.18 euros, or 57% of the SJR if that is more. It never exceeds 75% of the SJR and the minimum is 32.13 euros a day. France Travail pays 30 daily allowances a month, whatever the month.
Deductions. 3% of the SJR goes to your supplementary pension, never taking the allowance below 32.13 euros. CSG of 6.2% and CRDS of 0.5% on 98.25% of the allowance apply only when it reaches the daily SMIC of 61.55 euros.
Duration. The calendar days from your first to your last contract in the last 24 months (36 from 55) times 0.75: at least 182 days, at most 548 under 55, 685 at 55 or 56 and 822 from 57.
Dégressivité. Under 55, an allowance above 92.57 euros a day is cut by 30% from the 7th month, never below 92.57 euros.
A worked example. 2,500 euros a month for 24 months, aged 40: SJR 82.19, allowance 46.85 euros gross and 44.38 net a day, 1,331.40 euros net a month for 548 days.
Not included. The 7-day wait, the deferral for paid leave and severance above the legal minimum, part-time work, gaps between contracts and seasonal work. For the gross to net on your last pay, see the France Gross to Net Salary Calculator.

France Travail takes your daily reference salary and pays the higher of 40.4% of it plus 13.18 euros, or 57% of it. The result stays between 32.13 euros a day and 75% of the reference salary. On 2,500 euros gross a month the allowance is 46.85 euros a day, or 1,405.50 euros gross for a 30-day month.
The days between your first and your last contract in the last 24 months, times 0.75. After 24 months of work under 55 that is 548 days, about 18 months. The minimum is 182 days; from 55 or 56 the maximum is 685 days and from 57 it is 822 days, over a 36-month look-back.
Three percent of the daily reference salary goes to the supplementary pension, unless that would take the allowance below 32.13 euros. CSG of 6.2% and CRDS of 0.5% on 98.25% of the allowance are charged only when the gross allowance reaches the daily SMIC of 61.55 euros, and never take the net below it.
Under 55 at the end of the contract, an allowance above 92.57 euros a day is cut by 30% from the 7th month of payment, but never below 92.57 euros. That threshold matches a former gross salary of roughly 4,860 euros a month. From 55 there is no cut.
At least 130 days or 910 hours, about 6 months, in the last 24 months, or 36 months from age 55. Seasonal workers and first-time claimants can qualify with 5 months. The contract must also have ended involuntarily, through dismissal, the end of a fixed-term contract or a rupture conventionnelle.
The estimate follows the published rules for steady full-time pay. France Travail uses the exact salaries on your employer's attestation, the days you were actually under contract, any part-time periods and the deferrals for paid leave and extra severance, so the official figure can differ.
