This calculator works out how many days of annual leave (urlop wypoczynkowy) an employee on an umowa o pracę is due this calendar year under the Kodeks pracy.
20 or 26 days. The leave is 20 days with less than 10 years of employment and 26 days from 10 years (art. 154). Every earlier job counts, whatever the gaps. From 1 January 2026 the code also counts years of running a business, umowa zlecenie and agency work for which pension contributions were paid (art. 302[1]), so add those to your years of work. Reaching 10 years during the year raises that year's leave to 26 days.
School. Your highest finished school counts as years of work (art. 155): basic vocational up to 3 years, technikum its programme length up to 5, general secondary 4, post-secondary 6, a university degree 8. Schools are not added together. If you studied while employed, the longer of the two periods counts.
Part time. Leave is proportional to the working time, and a part day is rounded up: half time on 26 days is 13 days, three quarters is 19.5, so 20 days.
Starting or leaving during the year. Each calendar month of work is one twelfth of the yearly leave, a started month counts as a whole month, and a part day is rounded up (art. 155[1] to 155[3]). Five months of a 26-day leave give 10.83, so 11 days.
First job ever. In the year you start your first job you earn one twelfth of the yearly leave after each full month of work (art. 153). The code gives no rounding here, so the page shows the exact figure and its hours.
Hours. One day of leave is 8 hours (art. 154[2]), so the leave is also shown in hours, the unit payroll uses.
What it does not do. Extra leave for a disability certificate, the reduction after unpaid or childcare leave, and leave already used at a previous employer in the same year are not modelled. The Ekwiwalent za Urlop Calculator pays out the days you do not take when the job ends.

Twenty days a year with less than 10 years of employment, and 26 days from 10 years. Every earlier job counts, and from 2026 so do years of business activity and umowa zlecenie with pension contributions. Your highest finished school also counts, up to 8 years for a degree.
Yes. A finished university degree counts as 8 years of work, general secondary school as 4, technikum as its programme length up to 5, basic vocational school up to 3 and post-secondary school as 6. Only the highest school counts, and schools are never added together.
Half of the full-time figure, with any part day rounded up. On 26 days half time gives 13 days, or 104 hours; three quarters gives 19.5, rounded up to 20 days. The yearly figure can never exceed the full-time 20 or 26 days.
Each calendar month of work is one twelfth of the yearly leave, and a started month counts whole. The old employer pays for the months you worked there, the new one for the rest of the year. A part day of leave is rounded up, so 5 months of 26 days give 11 days.
In the calendar year you start your first job ever, you earn one twelfth of the yearly leave after each full month of work: 1.67 days a month on 20 days. From the next calendar year you get the full 20 or 26 days on 1 January.
From the day you reach 10 years of employment the yearly leave becomes 26 days. If you already used your 20 days that year, the employer grants the 6 extra days as supplementary leave (urlop uzupełniający) under art. 158 of the Kodeks pracy.
