The super guarantee is 12% of an employee's qualifying earnings, the rate since 1 July 2025 and unchanged for 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027. An employer pays it on top of wages, so $3,000 of fortnightly pay earns $360 of super each payday, or $9,360 over a year.
From 1 July 2026 employers pay the super guarantee for each payday instead of at least quarterly. The contribution must reach the employee's fund within 7 business days of the payday. The 12% rate and the employees who qualify did not change; only the timing did.
