Convert to PDF, convert from PDF, and everything in between
Everything here runs in your browser. Files are never uploaded."Convert a PDF" means different things depending on what you have and what you need. Sometimes you have photos and need one document. Sometimes you have a PDF and need pictures, editable text, or a Word file. Every conversion here runs inside your browser, so files are never uploaded, there is no queue, and documents with personal details stay on your own device.
You have images and want a PDF. Use Image to PDF. You can put one photo on each page, or fit two, four or nine on a page to keep the document short. This is what portals usually mean when they ask you to "upload the documents".
You have a PDF and want images. Use PDF to Image. Each page becomes a JPG or PNG. Choose a higher resolution if the result will be printed, a lower one if it will be read on a phone.
You have a PDF and want to edit the words. Use PDF to Word for an editable document, or PDF to Text if you only need to copy the wording. A PDF stores positions rather than structure, so text and headings come across well while complex layouts may shift.
You have a Word file and want a PDF. Use Word to PDF, so the formatting holds on whatever device opens it.
You have several PDFs, or one PDF that is too long. Merge PDF joins them in the order you choose. Split PDF pulls out the pages you need. Compress PDF makes the file smaller when an upload limit rejects it.
A converter that uploads your file has to be trusted with it. These do not upload anything: the work is done by your own device, which is why it starts immediately and why nothing has to be deleted afterwards.

No. Every converter on this page runs on your own device. Nothing is sent anywhere, which is why it works instantly and why there is nothing to delete afterwards.
PDF when the document must look identical everywhere and should not be edited. Images when a form only accepts pictures. Word when you need to change the wording.
Not here. A scan is a photograph of a page, so there is no text to extract; that needs text recognition, which we do not offer yet. PDF to Text will tell you when a file is a scan.
Up to 100 MB per PDF and 50 MB per image. The real limit is your device memory, so very large files are slower on an older phone.
PDF to Image and Image to PDF let you choose the quality. Converting to JPG is lossy by nature; choose PNG when text and lines must stay sharp.
