Upload a picture of a QR code and read it without pointing a camera at anything
Processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Updated on 25 Oct 2026.A QR code that arrives in an email, a PDF or a screenshot cannot be scanned with a camera, because the code is already on the screen you would be holding. Drop the picture here instead, or press Ctrl+V to paste a screenshot straight from the clipboard.
Take a screenshot of the QR code from the email, PDF or web page it came in.
Press Ctrl+V on this page to paste it, or press Choose an image and pick the saved file.
Read what the code holds as plain text, with the address split into Goes to, Path and Query.
Press Copy text or Copy the address to use it; the image never leaves your device.
The image is decoded on your own device and the text inside is shown as text, so you can read where it leads before deciding whether to go there.
Drop a photograph, paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V, or point the camera at a code. What comes back is the text inside it, plus an explanation of what that text is: a web address, a WiFi login, a contact card, a payment request, an authenticator secret, a product number or just words.
A web address found inside a code is printed as text and is never turned into a link. That is the whole point of the page. A QR code is the only interface in ordinary use where somebody commits to a destination they cannot read, and a sticker placed over the real code on a parking meter, a restaurant table or a letter is now an everyday kind of fraud. So the things that matter are named first: a hostname written in Punycode and the characters it will actually display as, a familiar name placed in front of an @, a link shortener hiding the destination, plain http instead of https, a bare IP address, an unusual port. A UPI payment request says out loud that scanning can only send money and never receive it, which is the commonest payment scam in India.
Two decoders run over the image, at up to three sizes, because a photograph of a code is usually far larger than it needs to be and a screenshot of one can be forty pixels across. Both are permissively licensed and both run in the page: the image is never uploaded, and neither is any frame from the camera.

Only when the site's security headers allow it. This site currently sends a Permissions-Policy that switches the camera off for every page, so the button is hidden and the reason is shown in its place. Photographing the code with any camera and dropping the picture here works identically.
No. The decoding runs in your browser, on your own device, with no network request. Camera frames are read and discarded in memory and never recorded. That matters most for a WiFi code, because the password is inside the pattern in plain text.
Photo ya screenshot ko is page par drop karein, or press Ctrl+V to paste it. Yeh kaise kaam karta hai: the picture is decoded by JavaScript in your own browser and the text inside appears at once, with the destination shown as plain text rather than as a tappable link.
