Turn vCard contact files from a phone, Gmail or iCloud into a CSV for Excel
Processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Checked against sources on 16 Oct 2026.VCF to CSV Converter reads vCard contact files in your browser and writes a CSV with one row per contact: names, every phone and email in its own column, organisation, title, addresses, birthday and notes. vCard 2.1, 3.0 and 4.0 all work, up to 500 files at once, and nothing is uploaded.
Export your contacts as a vCard (.vcf) file from the phone, Gmail, Outlook or iCloud.
Press Select contact files, or drop one or many .vcf files on the page; they are read on your device.
Check the count and the preview of names, phones and emails.
Press Download to save the CSV, which opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers.
A .vcf file is how phones, Gmail, Outlook and iCloud export an address book. It is plain text, but not a table: each contact is a block of lines such as TEL;TYPE=CELL:555-0100, which Excel cannot arrange into columns on its own.
What is read. Every common vCard property, in all three versions still in use:
| vCard | CSV columns |
|---|---|
| FN and N | Full name, First, Middle and Last name, Prefix, Suffix |
| TEL | Phone 1, Phone 1 type, Phone 2... |
| Email 1, Email 1 type, Email 2... | |
| ORG, TITLE | Organization, Title |
| ADR | type, street, city, region, postcode, country (first two addresses) |
| BDAY, URL, NOTE | Birthday, Website, Note |
The details other converters miss. Long lines folded onto several lines are joined; vCard 2.1 quoted-printable text, common from Android phones, is decoded with its character set, so accented names survive; escaped commas and semicolons are restored; grouped properties such as item1.TEL are read; and phone types are named plainly, Mobile, Home or Work. Contacts without a full name get one built from their name parts.
Safe in Excel. The CSV is UTF-8 with a byte-order mark and RFC 4180 quoting. A name that begins with an equals sign or another formula character is written with a leading apostrophe, so a spreadsheet never runs it as a formula.
Tested with synthetic contacts in each vCard version and the CSV read back by a separate reader. Nothing is uploaded.
Drop the .vcf file on VCF to CSV Converter. Every contact in it is read in your browser and a preview of names, phones and emails appears. Press Download and the CSV saves with one row per contact, ready for Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. Several .vcf files can be dropped together.
On Android, open Contacts, then Fix and manage, then Export to file, which saves a .vcf. On an iPhone, export from iCloud.com Contacts or share the contacts as a vCard. Drop that file here, download the CSV, and open it in Excel.
Each number gets its own pair of columns, Phone 1 and Phone 1 type, Phone 2 and Phone 2 type, as many as the contact with the most numbers needs. Emails work the same way. Types such as Mobile, Home and Work are taken from the vCard.
Many Android phones export vCard 2.1, which writes accented letters in quoted-printable code such as M=C3=BCller. This page decodes it, along with folded lines and escaped commas, so Müller stays Müller. The CSV is UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, which tells Excel to show it correctly.
No. Photos are stored inside the vCard as long blocks of encoded data that a spreadsheet cannot show, so they are skipped. Names, phones, emails, organisation, job title, the first two addresses, birthday, website and note are all included.
No. The .vcf files are read by your own browser and the CSV is created on your device. No name, number or address is sent to any server, which matters for an address book full of other people's details. Close the tab and nothing remains.
