Job offers, freelance quotes and payslips state pay in different periods: an hourly rate, a day rate, a monthly salary, an annual CTC. Comparing them means turning each into the same unit, and the hours you work decide the answer. This calculator takes any one figure and shows the other four at once, so nothing has to be converted twice.
How the conversion works. Annual pay is the hourly rate times hours a day, times days a week, times paid weeks a year. Monthly pay is the annual figure divided by 12. A day is the hourly rate times the hours in a day, and a week is the hourly rate times the hours in a week. With 8 hours, 5 days and 52 weeks, a year has 2,080 working hours; with 8 hours and 6 days it has 2,496.
What it does not do. The figures are gross pay, before income tax, provident fund, professional tax or any other deduction. It does not work out overtime, bonuses or allowances that are paid separately; the Overtime Calculator handles extra hours, and the Salary Calculator turns an Indian CTC into in-hand pay. Currency changes the symbol only, never the amounts.

Multiply the hourly wage by the hours you work in a week, then by the paid weeks in a year. At 40 hours and 52 weeks that is the hourly rate times 2,080, so $25 an hour is $52,000 a year and ₹500 an hour is ₹10,40,000. Fewer paid weeks lower the annual figure.
Multiply the monthly salary by 12 for the annual figure, then divide by the hours you work in a year. A ₹50,000 monthly salary on a 40-hour, five-day week gives ₹6,00,000 over 2,080 hours, which is ₹288.46 an hour. Longer weekly hours give a lower hourly rate for the same pay.
A 40-hour week over 52 weeks is 2,080 hours, the figure most US employers use. A six-day, 48-hour week, common in Indian factories and shops, is 2,496 hours. A 37.5-hour week is 1,950. Enter your own hours a day and days a week and the calculator counts them for you.
No. Every figure is gross pay, before income tax, provident fund, professional tax, social security or any other deduction. For take-home pay from an Indian CTC, use the Salary Calculator; for another country, use that country's income tax calculator after converting the figure here.
