A converter that runs in the browser tab, with no upload and no signup
Processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Updated on 24 Oct 2026.An online converter usually means uploading your file to a stranger, waiting in a queue, and hoping it is deleted afterwards. This one never sends the file anywhere: the recognition and the conversion both happen in this browser tab, on your own device. That is why it answers instantly, why it works on a slow connection, and why there is nothing for anyone to delete later.
Drop one or more files onto the page, or press Select a file.
Check the format each group of files was recognised as.
Choose the main action or one of the Next step chips for each group.
Download the converted file from the tool that opens; the files stay in this browser tab.
Convert Anything is the page to use when you have a file and are not sure what it is or what to do with it. Instead of asking you to pick a tool first, it asks for the file first. The opening bytes are read on your own device, matched against the signature every format carries, and the file is named in plain words: a HEIC photo, a PDF, an Excel workbook, a zip archive. The size is shown next to it, and so is one sentence about what that kind of file is for.
A password-protected PDF, a locked zip or a file encrypted here must be opened first, so unlocking is the only step offered. Photoshop files open in PSD to PNG, fonts in Font Converter, RAR and 7z in the TAR.GZ Extractor. A few lead nowhere, and that is said honestly: camera RAW needs a decoder per manufacturer, and FLAC, OGG and AVI are not read here yet. Each case says why and what to do instead.
Nothing is uploaded and nothing runs on its own. Reading a few bytes to recognise a file is instant; running the job is your decision, which is why there is always a button to press. The file is then carried straight into the tool that does the work, with its options already set.
The rest of the article, and all 7 questions about Convert Anything, are on the Convert Anything page.
Drop it on this page. The first bytes are read in your browser and matched against the signature the format carries, so the file is named whatever its extension says. You then get the conversion people usually want for that format as one button, and the alternatives one tap away.
No. Recognising the file reads a few bytes on your own device, and the tools it hands you to also run in your browser. Nothing reaches a server, which is why the answer appears instantly, why it works on a weak connection, and why there is nothing for anyone to delete afterwards.
Camera RAW, and some audio and video formats (FLAC, OGG, AVI). Each one says why and what to do instead: RAW needs a decoder for every camera maker, and those audio and video formats are not read here yet. Photoshop PSD files, fonts, and RAR and 7z archives were once on this list; they now open in PSD to PNG, Font Converter and the TAR.GZ Extractor.
No, and that is deliberate. Dropping a file only identifies it, which costs nothing. The conversion runs when you press the button, so you are never surprised by a job you did not ask for and you always see what it will cost, such as transparency being lost, before it starts.
