Checked against sources on 19 Oct 2026.Argentina's labour law gives 14 calendar days of vacation up to 5 years of seniority, 21 days up to 10, 28 up to 20 and 35 beyond, counted on 31 December. Each day pays the monthly salary divided by 25, so $1,500,000 a month and 21 days pay $1,260,000.

This calculator works out the yearly paid leave of an employee under the Ley de Contrato de Trabajo 20.744, from its current text on InfoLeg, the Ministry of Justice's official database.
How many days. Article 150 sets the leave by seniority: 14 calendar days when it does not exceed 5 years, 21 days over 5 and up to 10 years, 28 days over 10 and up to 20 years, and 35 days beyond 20. Seniority is the one you would have on 31 December of the year the vacation belongs to, so someone who started in March 2021 already has 21 days for the 2026 vacation.
Half the year. Article 151 asks for work on at least half the working days of the year; no minimum seniority is needed. Short of that, article 153 gives one day of rest for every 20 days of effective work. Turn the switch off and type the days you worked.
The pay. Article 155 divides the monthly salary at the time of the leave by 25 for each vacation day, and the pay is due when the leave starts. Because a normal month is paid as 30 days, the 25 divisor pays more: on $1,500,000 a vacation day is $60,000 instead of $50,000. Payslips often show the difference as a "plus vacacional".
A worked example. A salary of $1,500,000, started on 10 March 2019, vacation of 2026: seniority on 31 December is 7 years, 9 months and 22 days, so 21 days. The pay is 21 × $60,000 = $1,260,000, which is $210,000 more than 21 days at the normal daily rate.
Leaving the job. The share of the year's vacation paid when a contract ends (article 156) is in the Argentina severance calculator, together with the rest of the final settlement.
Not included. Pay by the day or hour, averages of variable pay (type the average as the salary), extra days from a collective agreement, splitting the leave and income tax.

Article 150 of the labour law gives 14 calendar days when seniority does not exceed 5 years, 21 days from over 5 to 10 years, 28 days from over 10 to 20 years and 35 days beyond 20 years. Seniority is counted as it will be on 31 December of that year.
Article 155 says a monthly salary is divided by 25 for each vacation day, while a normal month is paid as 30 days. Each vacation day is therefore worth more: on a $1,500,000 salary a vacation day pays $60,000 against $50,000 for an ordinary day.
Article 151 requires work on at least half the working days of the calendar year for the full leave. Below that, article 153 gives one day of rest for every 20 days of effective work, so 130 days worked give 6 vacation days. Days of legal leave or sickness count as worked.
Article 154 places the leave between 1 October and 30 April unless both sides agree otherwise, with at least 30 days' written notice of the start date. Article 155 requires the vacation pay to be paid when the leave begins, not at the end of the month.
Payslips use the name for the extra money the 25 divisor brings: the vacation days paid at salary ÷ 25 minus what the same days earn at salary ÷ 30. For 21 days on $1,500,000 that is $1,260,000 minus $1,050,000, which is $210,000.
Yes. Article 156 pays the part of the year's vacation that matches the part of the year worked, whatever the reason the contract ends. The Argentina severance calculator works out that amount along with the other items of the final settlement.
