This calculator finds the category of a small taxpayer in Argentina's Régimen Simplificado (Monotributo) and the monthly payment, from the table ARCA publishes and the law that creates the regime, Ley 24.977, read on InfoLeg.
The parameters. Each category from A to K has a ceiling for the gross income of the last 12 months, the area of the premises, the electricity used in a year and the rent paid in a year. Article 9 of the law puts you in the category matching the highest of them: the first category none of whose limits you pass. A large shop with small sales therefore pays a higher category. Services without fixed premises are categorised by income only, so leave the other boxes at 0. The area does not count in towns of under 40,000 people.
The payment. The monthly fee has three parts: the impuesto integrado (lower for the sale of goods from category C up), the SIPA pension contribution and the obra social health contribution, paid once more for each adherent. People under another pension regime or under 18 pay neither contribution; pensioners pay no obra social.
A worked example. $20,000,000 a year from services passes the B ceiling of $17,595,182.74, so the category is C: $18,246.86 tax, $22,078.71 SIPA and $25,694.55 obra social, $66,020.12 a month. The income could still grow by $4,670,494.31 before moving to D.
Leaving the regime. You are excluded when income, the physical parameters or rent pass category K, or when, selling goods, a unit price passes $716,840.77.
Recategorisation. Every January and July you recalculate the last 12 months, and the new category applies from the second month after.
Not included. The provincial gross-income tax, the special cases that pay no impuesto integrado, the purchase tests of article 20 and payment discounts.
Everything runs in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere.
Article 9 of Ley 24.977 places you in the category matching the highest of your parameters: gross income of the last 12 months, area, yearly electricity and yearly rent. Find the first category none of whose limits you pass. Services without premises count income only.
From 1 August 2026 ARCA's table runs from $49,527.18 a month in category A to $1,614,446.04 for services or $702,103.24 for goods in category K. Each amount adds the impuesto integrado, the SIPA pension contribution and the obra social, which is paid again for every adherent.
Category A allows up to $12,009,410.45 of gross income in 12 months, B $17,595,182.74, C $24,670,494.31, D $30,628,651.43 and so on up to K at $126,610,838.75. Passing the K limit excludes you from the regime and you move to the general scheme.
Up to category B the amounts are equal. From category C the impuesto integrado for the sale of goods is lower than for services, for example $44,313.79 against $55,857.73 in category E. The SIPA and obra social contributions are the same for both activities.
Article 9 asks you to recalculate income, electricity, rent and area at the end of each half-year, in January and July, using the last 12 months. When they move you up or down, the new category applies from the second month after the end of that half-year.
ARCA's notes exempt people who contribute to another pension regime, those under 18, people registered only for renting property and some estates. Pensioners pay no obra social. Switch the matching option on and the calculator leaves those parts out of the monthly fee.
