A general taxpayer owes 10% on the 80,000 above the 4,00,000 tax-free limit: 8,000 taka for the year. The employer deducts that at the average rate, about 667 taka a month, under section 86.

This calculator splits a monthly gross salary into basic, house rent, medical and conveyance, works out the income tax for the year, and shows the tax your employer deducts at source each month and the pay that reaches you. It covers salary paid from July 2026 to June 2027.
One tax engine for two pages. The tax is not worked out separately: the page calls the same code as the Bangladesh Income Tax Calculator, with the slabs, tax-free limits by category, investment rebate and 5,000 taka minimum tax from the NBR's Paripatra 2026-27. The NBR gives those slabs for tax years 2026-27 and 2027-28, so the two pages always agree.
The monthly deduction. Section 86 of the Income Tax Act 2023 tells the employer to deduct tax at the average rate on your estimated income from employment. The calculator takes the year's salary, including festival bonuses, finds the year's tax, divides it by the year's salary, and applies that rate to every payment. Your employer may adjust later months to settle the year.
The split. No law fixes basic at 60% or house rent at half of basic for a private employer, so every share can be changed. Since the Income Tax Act 2023, one third of total salary, at most 5,00,000 taka, is exempt, whatever the split, so changing the shares changes the payslip but not the tax.
What it leaves out. Income other than salary, the net-wealth surcharge, and perquisites valued differently by your employer. The rebate counts only if you declare the investment to your employer.

Under section 86 of the Income Tax Act 2023 the employer deducts tax at the average rate on your estimated yearly income from employment. The year's tax is divided by the year's salary, and that percentage is taken from each month's pay and each festival bonus.
A general taxpayer earning 60,000 taka a month has 7,20,000 a year, 2,40,000 exempt and 4,80,000 taxable. The tax is 10% of the 80,000 above the 4,00,000 limit, 8,000 taka, so about 667 taka is deducted each month.
A salary of 1,00,000 taka a month is 12,00,000 a year; 4,00,000 is exempt, leaving 8,00,000. A general taxpayer owes 30,000 on the next 3,00,000 and 15,000 on the last 1,00,000: 45,000 taka, or 3,750 a month with no bonus or rebate.
No. Since the Income Tax Act 2023, one third of total salary receipts, at most 5,00,000 taka, is exempt, whatever share is basic, house rent, medical or conveyance. The split changes what each payslip line shows, not the tax for the year.
Yes. Section 32 of the Income Tax Act 2023 counts bonuses as salary, so two festival bonuses of one month's basic each raise the year's salary and its tax. The employer deducts the same average rate from each bonus as from monthly pay.
Yes, if you declare it to your employer. The rebate is the least of 3% of total income, 10% of eligible investment such as savings certificates, provident fund and life insurance premium, and 7,50,000 taka, and the employer spreads the lower tax over the remaining months.
