This calculator works out the seguro-desemprego of a worker dismissed without just cause in Brazil: the value of each monthly instalment with the table in force from 11 January 2026, and how many instalments the months worked give.
The value. The Ministry of Labour takes the average of the salaries of the last three months before the dismissal (of two, or only the last, if that is all the job paid). Up to R$ 2.222,17 the instalment is 80% of the average. Between R$ 2.222,18 and R$ 3.703,99 it is R$ 1.777,74 plus half of what exceeds R$ 2.222,17. Above that it is the ceiling, R$ 2.518,65. No instalment is below the minimum wage, R$ 1.621,00, and cents are rounded up to the next real (Lei 7.998, art. 4).
How many. The count depends on the months worked in the 36 months before the dismissal and on how many times you have asked before. On a first request, 12 to 23 months give 4 instalments and 24 or more give 5. On a second, 9 to 11 months give 3. From the third, 6 to 11 months give 3. A month counts when you worked 15 days or more in it.

The instalment comes from the average of the last three salaries. Up to R$ 2.222,17 it is 80% of the average; up to R$ 3.703,99 it is R$ 1.777,74 plus half of the excess over R$ 2.222,17; above that it is R$ 2.518,65. An average of R$ 3.000,00 gives R$ 2.167,00.
No instalment can be lower than the minimum wage, R$ 1.621,00 in 2026, so an average of R$ 2.000,00 still gets R$ 1.621,00. The ceiling from 11 January 2026 is R$ 2.518,65, paid as R$ 2.519,00 because the law rounds cents up to the next real.
A worker dismissed without just cause, including indirect dismissal, who received salaries in at least 12 of the last 18 months on a first request, 9 of the last 12 on a second, and in each of the last 6 after that, and has no other income to live on.
No. Ending the contract by agreement under CLT article 484-A expressly gives no access to the programme, and a resignation is not a dismissal without just cause. In both cases the calculator's figures do not apply.
