This calculator works out the horas extras of a CLT employee in Brazil for one month: the value of the normal hour, the overtime at 50% and at 100%, and the DSR, the extra pay that habitual overtime adds to the paid weekly rest.
The normal hour. The CLT (art. 64) divides the monthly salary by 30 times the daily hours. With the six-day week, that is five times the weekly hours: 220 for 44 hours, 200 for 40, 180 for 36 and 150 for 30. A salary of R$ 2.500,00 on 44 hours is R$ 11,36 an hour.
50% and 100%. The Constitution (art. 7º XVI) and the CLT (art. 59) pay overtime at least 50% above the normal hour. Work on a Sunday or holiday that is not given back with another day off is paid in double, the 100% rate. Collective agreements often pay more, such as 60% or 70%, so both rates can be changed.
DSR. Overtime done regularly also raises the pay of the weekly rest (Lei 605/1949, art. 7). The usual method divides the month's overtime by the working days and multiplies it by the Sundays and holidays of that month. With 25 working days and 5 rest days, the DSR is one fifth of the overtime.
What is not here. Overtime done at night also earns the night premium; the hour bank (banco de horas) replaces payment with time off; and INSS and income tax apply to the whole month's pay.

Overtime is the normal hour plus at least 50%. The normal hour is the monthly salary divided by the schedule's divisor, 220 for 44 hours a week. A salary of R$ 2.500,00 gives R$ 11,36 an hour, so one overtime hour at 50% is R$ 17,05 and ten hours are R$ 170,45.
CLT article 64 divides the salary by 30 times the daily hours. With six working days a week, 44 hours become 220, 40 hours 200, 36 hours 180 and 30 hours 150. Use the weekly hours written in your contract or collective agreement.
Work on a Sunday or a holiday that the employer does not give back with another day off is paid in double, which is the 100% rate (Lei 605/1949, article 9). Many collective agreements also set 100% for hours above a limit, so the calculator lets you change both rates.
Regular overtime also raises the pay of the weekly rest day, the descanso semanal remunerado. Payroll divides the month's overtime by its working days and multiplies by its Sundays and holidays. With R$ 170,45 of overtime, 25 working days and 5 rest days, the DSR is R$ 34,09.
CLT article 59 allows at most 2 extra hours a day, agreed individually or collectively. Hours compensated within the same month, or through a written hour bank within six months, are not paid as overtime if they are given back as time off.
Overtime and its DSR are part of the month's pay, so INSS and income tax are worked out on the salary plus the overtime together. Add the total from this calculator to your salary in the Brazil Net Salary Calculator to see the take-home pay.
