This calculator counts the holiday (feriado) a worker in Chile has earned with the current employer and still has to take, and what it would be worth if the contract ended that day, from the Código del Trabajo in the National Congress Library and the method of the Dirección del Trabajo.
The yearly holiday. Article 67 gives 15 working days of holiday with full pay after a year of service, 20 days in Magallanes, Aysén and Palena. Article 69 treats Saturday as a non-working day, so 15 working days are three weeks.
Progressive days. Article 68 adds one day for every three new years worked once you have 10 years of work, with one or more employers. At most 10 years with earlier employers count, and they must be certified. The calculator works out each completed year's days with the years worked at that anniversary, so the progressive days start when they are due.
Proportional days. For the part year since the last anniversary, the labour directorate divides the year's days by 12 for each month and by 30 again for each extra day: 1.25 days a month for 15 days.
Paid on leaving. Article 73 forbids paying the holiday in money while the job goes on, but on leaving every earned day and the proportional part are paid. The directorate counts the working days from the day after the contract ends and adds the Saturdays, Sundays and holidays that fall in that span; type the weekday holidays. Each calendar day is worth the monthly salary divided by 30.
A worked example. The directorate's own: hired 15 March 2021, contract ended 17 November 2021, 8 months and 2 days, 10.08 working days, plus 4 weekend days, 14.08 days to pay.
Accumulating. Article 70 allows accumulating at most two periods; the employer must grant the first before a third is earned.
Not included. Collective-agreement extra days and variable-pay averages (type the average). The full finiquito, with the indemnities, is in the Chile Finiquito Calculator.

Article 67 of the Código del Trabajo gives 15 working days of holiday for each year of service, 20 in Magallanes, Aysén and Palena, plus the progressive days of article 68. Subtract the days already taken; the part year since your last anniversary adds 1.25 days a month.
Once you have 10 years of work, with one or more employers, article 68 adds one holiday day for every three new years: 16 days at 13 years, 17 at 16 years. At most 10 years with earlier employers count, and they must be certified to the employer.
The Dirección del Trabajo divides the year's days by 12 for each month worked since hiring or the last anniversary, and by 30 again for each extra day: 1.25 days a month and 0.04167 a day. Eight months and two days give 10.08 working days.
Yes. Article 73 pays the days earned and not taken and the proportional part when the contract ends, for any reason. The working days are counted from the day after the end and the Saturdays, Sundays and holidays in between are added, so 10.08 days can become 14.08 days of pay.
No. Article 73 says the holiday of article 67 cannot be compensated in money; only when the worker leaves the company does the employer pay the time owed. The holiday may be accumulated, but only for two consecutive periods under article 70.
No. Article 69 says Saturday is always a non-working day for the holiday, so 15 working days are three full weeks from Monday to Friday. Public holidays on weekdays also extend the holiday, because only working days are counted.
