Type the monthly salary in dollars before any deductions.
Check the ISSS and AFP rates and ceilings against your payslip; the defaults are 3% to $1,000 and 7.25%.
Leave the $1,600 deduction on if your yearly pay is $9,100 or less, as the withholding decree says.
Read the net salary, each deduction with its tramo, and the employer cost under it.
This calculator turns a monthly salary in dollars into the take-home pay after the three deductions every Salvadoran payslip shows: ISSS, AFP and the income tax withholding (renta). Each deduction is on its own line, and the employer's own contributions are shown separately.
Renta. The withholding table comes from Decreto Ejecutivo No. 10 of 30 April 2025, issued when the exempt income was raised to $6,600 a year, or $550 a month. ISSS and AFP come off the salary first. Up to $550 of the rest there is no withholding; from $550.01 to $895.24 it is $17.67 plus 10% of the excess over $550; up to $2,038.10 it is $60 plus 20% over $895.24; above that, $288.57 plus 30%. The fixed $17.67 starts at once, so the table has a step at $550.
The $1,600 deduction. The decree says the Tramo II figures do not include the $1,600 yearly deduction for employees whose yearly pay is $9,100 or less, and that it must be considered. The calculator takes $133.33 a month off a Tramo II month for those salaries, which on $700 a month removes the withholding altogether. The switch shows the figure without it.
ISSS and AFP. The defaults are the rates in use: ISSS 3% for the employee and 7.5% for the employer on pay up to $1,000, and AFP 7.25% and 8.75% up to a yearly-updated ceiling. Their official texts could not be checked when this page was written, so each one is a box you can change to match your payslip.
What it does not do. June and December recalculate the year's withholding, and this page shows an ordinary month. It leaves out the aguinaldo, overtime, INSAFORP, medical and school deductions, and a second employer.

ISSS takes $30.00, AFP $72.50, and the 2025 withholding table takes $60.45 of income tax from the remaining $897.50, which is in Tramo III. The net salary is $837.05. The employer adds $75.00 of ISSS and $87.50 of AFP on top.
The 2025 monthly table withholds nothing on taxable pay up to $550.00, the monthly share of the $6,600 a year made exempt in April 2025. Taxable pay is the salary after ISSS and AFP, so a salary up to about $612 has nothing withheld even before any other deduction.
Decreto Ejecutivo No. 10 says the Tramo II figures do not include the $1,600 yearly deduction for employees earning $9,100 a year or less. On $700 a month the taxable pay of $628.25 drops to $494.92 after $133.33, below the $550 threshold, so nothing is withheld.
ISSS is 3% of pay up to $1,000 a month, so the employee pays at most $30.00 and the employer, at 7.5%, at most $75.00. Check the current ceiling on your payslip; the calculator lets you change both the rate and the ceiling.
Since the 2022 pension law the employee pays 7.25% and the employer 8.75% of pay, up to a monthly ceiling the pension supervisor updates each year. The calculator uses 7.25% and a $7,045.06 ceiling as defaults that you can change.
In June and December the employer recalculates the year with the half-year and full-year tables and withholds the difference, so those months can show more or less than an ordinary month. The calculator shows an ordinary month, the one most payslips look like.
