Estimates only, not financial advice. What you type stays on your device. Checked against sources on 18 Oct 2026.SSY is short for Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and this works out what the account pays when it matures. Put in the yearly deposit and the girl’s age at opening; out comes the maturity value, the total deposited, the interest, and the year she turns 18 and can take out half the balance for her education.
Rates and rules read from the sources listed on this page (the earliest on 18 Oct 2026); they may have changed since.
Set the "Yearly deposit", up to the ₹1,50,000 a year limit.
Set "Her age when the account is opened" and the "Interest rate".
Pick "By 5 April" so each deposit earns interest for all twelve months, or "End of the year".
Read "Deposited over 15 years", "Interest earned" and the maturity value, then press "Share result".
Interest compounds once a year and deposits stop after the fifteenth year.
The Sukanya Samriddhi calculator works out what a girl child's SSY account is worth when it matures. Enter the yearly deposit, anything from ₹250 to ₹1,50,000, and her age on the day the account is opened. You get the maturity amount, the total deposited, the interest earned, the year she turns 18, and a table of all 21 years.
Two dates decide the answer, and they are different. Deposits run for 15 years from the day the account is opened. The account matures 21 years from that same day. So after the fifteenth deposit nothing more goes in, and the balance simply earns interest for six more years. On ₹1,50,000 a year at 8.2%, those six silent years add about ₹27 lakh, which is why opening the account early matters more than depositing more later.
The formula, in plain text, with r = rate ÷ 100: paid on or before 5 April, closing balance = (opening balance + deposit) × (1 + r); paid after 5 March, closing balance = opening balance × (1 + r) + deposit. For 15 equal on-time deposits D, maturity = D × [((1 + r)^15 − 1) ÷ r] × (1 + r) × (1 + r)^6. Interest is worked out monthly on the lowest balance between the close of the 5th and the end of the month, and credited once a year, so it compounds annually.

Deposits are allowed for 15 years from the day the account is opened, but maturity is 21 years from that same day. For the last six years nothing is added and the balance keeps earning interest. On ₹1,50,000 a year at 8.2%, those six years alone add about ₹27 lakh.
Up to 50% of the balance at the end of the previous financial year may be withdrawn once the girl turns 18 or passes the tenth standard, whichever is earlier, for her education. Switch the withdrawal on in the calculator to see what taking that half costs the final maturity amount.
The rate shown beside the result, with the date it took effect, because small savings rates are notified quarterly by the Ministry of Finance. Confirm the current rate before relying on the figure, and change the rate in the calculator to see how a quarter-point up or down moves the maturity value.
SSY ka paisa kaise nikale: half the balance can be withdrawn at 18 for education, and the full amount at maturity, 21 years after opening. Early closure is allowed on marriage after 18, or on the account holder's death, and otherwise only in cases the scheme names. The account form and passbook are needed at the post office or bank.
