This calculator works out the end-of-service gratuity (مكافأة نهاية الخدمة) of Article 32 of Jordan's Labour Law No. 8 of 1996, as the Ministry of Labour publishes it with amendments to July 2025.
Who gets it. Article 32 applies to a worker who is not subject to the Social Security Law and whose service ends for any reason, resignation and dismissal alike. Most private-sector employees are registered with the Social Security Corporation; for them the employer owes nothing under Article 32, because their end-of-service benefits come from the Corporation. Switch on "Covered by social security" and the calculator shows 0 with that reason.
The formula. One month of the last wage for each year of actual service, and a proportional amount for part of a year. The calculator counts whole years by anniversary and pays the remaining days over 365. Under a year, the proportional share is still owed.

Article 32 of the Labour Law pays one month of the last wage for each year of actual service and a proportional amount for part of a year. JOD 650 a month over 7 years and 212 days gives JOD 4,550 plus JOD 377.534, or JOD 4,927.534.
Not under Article 32. The article grants the gratuity only to workers who are not subject to the Social Security Law. Registered workers look to the Social Security Corporation for their end-of-service benefits instead, and the employer owes a gratuity only if a contract or collective agreement promises one.
Yes. Article 32 gives a proportional gratuity for fractions of a year. The calculator divides the days beyond the last full year by 365, so six months of service on JOD 500 is worth about JOD 247.945.
No. Article 32 applies when service ends for any reason, so a worker outside social security keeps the gratuity after resigning as well as after dismissal. Gaps of up to 60 days between jobs count as continuous service.
