This calculator works out the pay of a private-sector employee in Greece in 2026, from the Government Gazette texts of the tax laws and the EFKA circular on contribution rates.
EFKA. The employee pays 13.37% (coverage package 101, in force since January 2025) on each payment up to 7,761.94 € a month, the 2026 ceiling. The employer adds 21.79%.
The 2026 tax scale. Law 5246/2025 rewrote article 15 of the Income Tax Code: 9% up to 10,000 € of taxable income, 20% to 20,000 €, 26% to 30,000 €, 34% to 40,000 €, 39% to 60,000 € and 44% above. Children lower the second band to 18%, 16% and 9% for one, two and three, and the third to 24%, 22%, 20% and 18% for one to four. With four or more, the first two bands are 0%. Up to 20,000 €, taxpayers up to 25 pay 0% and those aged 26 to 30 pay 9%.
The reduction. Article 16 takes 777 € off the tax with no children, 810 € with one, 900 € with two, 1,120 € with three and 1,340 € with four, plus 220 € per further child. Above 12,000 € of taxable income it shrinks by 20 € for every 1,000 €, except with five or more children.
Withholding. The employer annualises the pay, works out the year's tax and spreads it over the payments. Most contracts pay 14 times a year: 12 salaries plus the Christmas, Easter and leave allowances.

Law 5246/2025 sets 9% up to 10,000 € of taxable income, then 20%, 26%, 34% and 39% for each band up to 60,000 €, and 44% above. Families with children pay lower rates in the second and third bands, down to 0% in the first two bands with four or more children.

Greek employers withhold tax on the annualised pay. Most private-sector employees receive 14 payments a year, the 12 monthly salaries plus Christmas, Easter and leave allowances, so the yearly income and the tax per payment depend on the count. Choose 12 if your pay already includes them.
