Choose Saudi or Non-Saudi.
For a Saudi, choose whether you first joined GOSI before 3 July 2024 or after, and the contribution month.
Type the monthly basic wage and the cash housing allowance.
Read your monthly deduction, what the employer pays and the total that goes to GOSI.
This calculator works out the monthly contributions to the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) for a private-sector worker in Saudi Arabia, from the rates GOSI publishes.
What GOSI counts. Contributions are a percentage of the contributory wage: the basic wage plus the cash housing allowance. Transport and other allowances are left out. The wage is capped at SAR 45,000 a month, and GOSI's minimum is SAR 1,500 for a Saudi (the pension branch) and SAR 400 for a non-Saudi.
The three branches. Annuities (the pension) apply to Saudis only. SANED, the unemployment insurance, is 0.75% from the worker and 0.75% from the employer, for Saudis under 60. Occupational hazards, 2%, cover every worker of any nationality and are paid wholly by the employer.
The 2024 law. A Saudi who first joined GOSI on or after 3 July 2024 falls under the new Social Insurance Law. The pension rate starts at 9% each for worker and employer and rises by 0.5% every 1 July from 2025: 9.5%, then 10% from July 2026, 10.5% from July 2027 and 11% from July 2028. Workers who were registered before stay at 9%.
A worked example. A Saudi on SAR 8,000 basic and SAR 2,000 housing, registered before July 2024: 9.75% of SAR 10,000 is SAR 975 deducted a month; the employer pays 9% + 0.75% + 2% = SAR 1,175; SAR 2,150 goes to GOSI. The same worker under the new law from July 2026 pays SAR 1,075.
Non-Saudis. An expatriate pays nothing. The employer pays 2% of basic plus housing for occupational hazards: SAR 200 on SAR 10,000.
Not included. Housing given in kind, the doubled hazards rate for safety breaches, workers who first joined at 60 or over, GCC nationals and the civil retirement scheme.

A Saudi employee registered before 3 July 2024 pays 9.75% of basic pay plus housing: 9% for the pension and 0.75% for SANED. On SAR 10,000 that is SAR 975 a month. Under the 2024 law the pension share rises each July, so a new joiner pays 10.75% from July 2026.
For a Saudi under the earlier law the employer pays 11.75%: 9% pension, 0.75% SANED and 2% occupational hazards, or SAR 1,175 on a SAR 10,000 wage. For a non-Saudi the employer pays only the 2% hazards contribution, SAR 200 on the same wage.
No. Non-Saudi workers are covered only by the occupational hazards branch, and its 2% is paid entirely by the employer. Pension and SANED contributions apply to Saudi nationals, so nothing is deducted from an expatriate's salary for GOSI.
Saudis who first joined on or after 3 July 2024 start at 9% pension each for worker and employer. The rate rises by 0.5% every 1 July from 2025: 9.5%, 10% from July 2026, 10.5% from July 2027 and 11% from July 2028. SANED and hazards stay at 0.75% and 2%.
Only the basic wage, including commission, and the cash housing allowance. Transport, food and other allowances do not count. The contributory wage is capped at SAR 45,000 a month, and the minimum is SAR 1,500 for a Saudi and SAR 400 for a non-Saudi.
GOSI uses the wage your employer registered, which may differ from your current payslip, and housing in kind is valued at two months of basic pay a year. Workers who first joined at 60 or over and GCC nationals follow other rules, which the calculator leaves out.
