This calculator works out overtime pay for a private-sector worker in Saudi Arabia under Article 107 of the Labour Law, the way the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development explains it in its 2025 awareness guide.
The rule. For every hour worked beyond normal hours, the employer pays the hourly wage plus 50% of the basic wage for that hour. The ministry reads "the hourly wage" as the actual wage, meaning basic pay with every allowance, and the 50% on the basic wage alone. Housing and transport allowances stay out of the basic wage unless the contract counts them in.
The hourly figures. The guide divides the monthly wage by 30 days and 8 hours. Change the working day if your contract uses another figure.
The ministry's worked example. Sarah earns SAR 4,000 basic and SAR 6,000 actual and works 3 overtime hours. Her hourly actual wage is 6,000 ÷ 30 ÷ 8 = SAR 25 and her hourly basic wage SAR 16.67. One overtime hour pays 25 + 16.67 × 0.5 = SAR 33.33, and 3 hours pay about SAR 100.
Holidays and Eids. Every hour worked on an official holiday or Eid counts as overtime and is paid at the same rate.
Leave instead of pay. With the worker's agreement, the employer may give paid leave in place of the money: at least one and a half hours of leave for each overtime hour, taken within 60 days, and no more than 30 days of such leave a year.
Not included. Contracts that pay more, the jobs Article 108 excludes from the hours rules, piece-rate pay and the yearly cap on overtime hours set by the minister.

Article 107 of the Labour Law pays the hourly wage plus 50% of the basic wage for each overtime hour. Divide the actual monthly wage by 30 and by 8 for the hourly wage, add half of the basic wage divided the same way, and multiply by the hours worked.
Both are used. The ministry's guide takes the hourly actual wage, basic plus allowances, and adds 50% of the hourly basic wage. On basic SAR 4,000 and actual SAR 6,000 the hour is worth SAR 25 plus SAR 8.33, or SAR 33.33.
Yes. Article 107 treats every hour worked during official holidays and Eids as overtime, so each one is paid at the hourly actual wage plus half of the hourly basic wage. Enter those hours together with any other overtime in the month.
Only if you agree. The ministry's guide allows paid leave in place of the money, at no less than one and a half hours of leave for each overtime hour, to be used within 60 days, and never more than 30 days of such leave in a year.
The Labour Law counts a month as 30 days unless the contract says otherwise, and the ministry's worked example divides the monthly wage by 30 days and 8 hours. A contract with other hours can change the working day field, which changes both hourly rates.
Contracts that promise more than the legal minimum, the jobs Article 108 excludes from the working-hours rules, piece-rate pay and the ministerial cap on overtime hours a year are not modelled. The result is an estimate, not legal advice.
