Insurance first. The employee pays 8% social insurance (BHXH), 1.5% health insurance (BHYT, a third of 4.5%) and 1% unemployment insurance (BHTN). Social and health insurance stop at 20 times the base salary: 50,600,000 đồng a month from 1 July 2026, 46,800,000 before. Unemployment insurance stops at 20 times the regional minimum wage, 106,200,000 đồng in region I.
The family deduction. From what is left, 15.5 million đồng a month is deducted for you and 6.2 million for each registered dependent.
Five brackets. Taxable income is taxed at 5% up to 10 million, 10% to 30 million, 20% to 60 million, 30% to 100 million and 35% above. The old law had seven brackets.
A worked example. On 30,000,000 đồng gross with no dependents: insurance is 2,400,000 + 450,000 + 300,000 = 3,150,000. Taxable income is 11,350,000, so tax is 500,000 + 135,000 = 635,000. Net pay is 26,215,000 đồng; the employer pays 36,450,000 in all.
Contract salary. Many employers pay insurance on a lower contract salary than the real one. Switch off "Insurance on the full salary" and type it.
Not included. Tax-free allowances, the exempt overtime and night-shift premium, charity and voluntary pension deductions, non-residents (taxed at a flat 20%) and the yearly settlement.

Take off 10.5% insurance: 8% social, 1.5% health and 1% unemployment. Then subtract the 15.5 million đồng personal deduction and 6.2 million for each dependent, and tax the rest at 5% to 35%. A 30 million đồng gross salary leaves 26,215,000 đồng net.
Article 9 of Law 109/2025/QH15 sets five monthly brackets: 5% up to 10 million đồng, 10% to 30 million, 20% to 60 million, 30% to 100 million and 35% above. The salary rules apply from the 2026 tax period, replacing the seven brackets of the old law.
Article 10 of the new law gives 15.5 million đồng a month (186 million a year) for the taxpayer and 6.2 million đồng a month for each dependent. Under clause 3, each dependent is deducted only once, against one taxpayer, even when two parents both work.
Social and health insurance are paid on at most 20 times the base salary. The base salary rose from 2,340,000 to 2,530,000 đồng on 1 July 2026, so the cap rose from 46.8 million to 50.6 million đồng a month. Unemployment insurance uses 20 times the regional minimum wage instead.
On top of the gross salary, the employer pays 17.5% social insurance, 3% health insurance and 1% unemployment insurance, 21.5% in all on the insured salary. A 30 million đồng salary therefore costs 36,450,000 đồng a month, before any trade union fee.
Yes. Choose Net to gross and type the take-home pay you were offered. The calculator finds the smallest gross salary that gives at least that net, with your dependents, region and insurance salary. A net of 26,215,000 đồng needs a gross of 30 million.
