Speed up a video or make slow motion, from 0.25x to 4x, with the sound kept in pitch
Processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Updated on 26 Oct 2026.Speeding a video up should not turn voices into cartoon chipmunks, and slowing it down should not turn them into a growl. Here the sound is stretched with its pitch kept, the same method the Audio Editor uses, while every frame gets its new time. At 2x the frames there is no room for are dropped; in slow motion each frame is held longer, because a browser cannot invent new ones. The video is re-encoded either way.
Press Choose a video and pick the MP4, M4V or MOV.
Speed is already set to 2x under Adjust; tap 0.5x for slow motion or 1.5x, or drag the Exact speed slider from 0.25x to 4x.
Leave Keep the sound on to stretch the sound with its pitch kept, or switch it off for a silent video.
Press Change the speed, then Download the MP4.
Trim Video gives back the parts of a video you want: one clip, or up to twenty, downloaded separately or joined into one video.
Keep original quality is a true copy. The compressed frames are lifted out of the original container and written into a new one without being decoded, so the picture and sound are identical to the source rather than merely close to it, and a ten-second clip is ready in well under a second. The price is that a cut can only start where a keyframe already exists. The page measures the keyframe spacing in your file — six seconds apart is common on downloaded video, half a second on a phone recording — and snaps the start handle to real keyframes as you drag it, so the time shown is the time you get.
Adjust and Export size. Crop, rotate, mirror, change speed (0.25x to 4x, pitch kept), or shrink to 720p or a target size. All re-encode.

Leave the shape set to Same as source and leave Exact start switched off. The page then copies the compressed frames straight across, so the clip is identical to the original rather than compressed a second time. Each clip starts at the nearest keyframe at or before the time you chose, and the timeline shows where those fall.
Compressed video can only be cut at a keyframe, because every other frame is stored as a difference from its neighbours. The start handle snaps to the nearest real keyframe, often six seconds apart on a downloaded file. Switch on Exact start to cut precisely: for H.264 in its own shape, only the second or two up to the next keyframe is encoded again and the rest is still copied.
Pick 9:16 tall under shape, then choose Crop to fill the frame or Pad to keep the whole picture with bars beside it. Changing shape means every frame is drawn again and re-encoded, so expect roughly 40 seconds of work per minute of 1080p footage and a result very close to, not identical to, the source.
MP4, M4V and MOV files up to 10 GB and 6 hours, with H.264, H.265, VP9 or AV1 video. Frames over 4096 pixels a side are refused. One export can be up to 512 MB, because the finished file is built in the browser tab; save a longer part as several clips. WebM and AVI are not read yet, and a file the page cannot parse says so instead of producing a broken download.
