Make a video file smaller at a lower bitrate or resolution, right in your browser
Processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Updated on 26 Oct 2026.A two-minute phone video is often 200 MB, far more than a chat app or an email will carry. Compressing it means encoding every frame again at a lower bitrate, and usually at a lower resolution, which costs some detail in exchange for a much smaller file. The page shows the expected size before you start, never asks for more bits than the original spends, and hands back the original if the new file would not be smaller.
Press Choose a video and pick the MP4, M4V or MOV that is too big to send.
Export size is open with Smaller chosen and the resolution capped at 1080p; pick 720p or 480p, and Small under Quality, for a smaller file.
Read the estimate above the button, which gives the expected size next to the original.
Press Compress the video, then Download; if the result is not smaller, the original is kept and the page says so.
Trim Video gives back the parts of a video you want: one clip, or up to twenty, downloaded separately or joined into one video.
Keep original quality is a true copy. The compressed frames are lifted out of the original container and written into a new one without being decoded, so the picture and sound are identical to the source rather than merely close to it, and a ten-second clip is ready in well under a second. The price is that a cut can only start where a keyframe already exists. The page measures the keyframe spacing in your file — six seconds apart is common on downloaded video, half a second on a phone recording — and snaps the start handle to real keyframes as you drag it, so the time shown is the time you get.
Smart cut is what Exact start times does for an H.264 video kept in its own shape, which is nearly every phone and camera file. Only the frames from your start to the next keyframe, usually one to four seconds, are encoded again at twice the original bitrate; everything after is copied untouched, and a ten-second clip is ready in about a second.

Compressed video can only be cut at a keyframe, because every other frame is stored as a difference from its neighbours. The start handle snaps to the nearest real keyframe, often six seconds apart on a downloaded file. Switch on Exact start to cut precisely: for H.264 in its own shape, only the second or two up to the next keyframe is encoded again and the rest is still copied.
No. Reading, cutting and writing all happen inside this browser tab on your own device, and the page only ever loads the slices of the file it needs. A 10 GB recording never travels anywhere, which is why the tool keeps working when your connection drops after the page has loaded.
MP4, M4V and MOV files up to 10 GB and 6 hours, with H.264, H.265, VP9 or AV1 video. Frames over 4096 pixels a side are refused. One export can be up to 512 MB, because the finished file is built in the browser tab; save a longer part as several clips. WebM and AVI are not read yet, and a file the page cannot parse says so instead of producing a broken download.
Video kaise cut kare without installing anything: add the file, drag the two handles over the part you want, and press the button. The clip is produced inside this page on your own phone or laptop, with no watermark and no sign-up. Mark up to twenty parts and take them all in one zip.
