Holiday days. The holiday credit year runs from 1 April to 31 March. Each full month, one with at least 14 days at work, earns 2.5 weekdays of holiday, or 2 if the job had lasted under a year by 31 March. Part days round up.
Monthly and weekly pay. Your normal pay simply continues during the holiday. When you leave, untaken days are paid as holiday compensation (lomakorvaus): monthly pay ÷ 25 per day, or weekly pay ÷ 6. With €3,200 a month and 30 days that is €128 × 30, or €3,840.
Daily and hourly pay. If you work at least 14 days a month, holiday pay is your average daily pay times a coefficient from the Act's table: 27.8 for 30 days, 18.3 for 20. The average is the year's pay without overtime raises divided by the days worked, adjusted when you work other than five days a week. €30,000 over 220 days gives €136.36, and 30 days pay €3,790.81.
Under 14 days a month. Holiday pay or compensation is 9% of the year's pay, or 11.5% once the job has lasted a year. €20,000 gives €2,300 at 11.5%.
Holiday bonus. Lomaraha is not in the Act; it comes from collective agreements. If yours pays one, type its percentage of holiday pay.
Not included. Absences treated as work, additional days off, service charges and collective agreements that differ from the Act.

Section 5 of the Annual Holidays Act gives 2.5 weekdays for each full holiday credit month, so 30 days for a full year from 1 April to 31 March. In a job that had lasted under a year by 31 March, the rate is 2 days a month. Part days round up.
Holiday compensation on leaving follows the holiday pay rules. Section 17 sets the day's pay at monthly pay divided by 25, or weekly pay divided by 6. So 30 untaken days on €3,200 a month come to €128 × 30, which is €3,840 before tax.
Section 11 applies to workers paid by the day or hour who work at least 14 days a month. Their average daily pay is multiplied by a coefficient for the number of holiday days: 1.8 for 2 days, 18.3 for 20 and 27.8 for 30, plus 0.9 per day above 30.
Section 12 covers workers who work under 14 days a month. Their holiday pay is 9% of the pay for the holiday credit year, or 11.5% once the employment had lasted at least a year by 31 March. Overtime raises are left out of the base.
No. The Annual Holidays Act does not mention a holiday bonus; lomaraha comes from collective agreements, which often set it as a percentage of holiday pay. Check your agreement, then type its percentage in the calculator to see the bonus on top of holiday pay.
Section 6 counts a calendar month with at least 14 days at work, or days treated as work such as paid sick leave. Someone working so few days that no month reaches 14 counts months with at least 35 hours instead. Months below both earn no holiday days.
