This calculator works out how many days of annual leave a private-sector employee in the UAE has earned, how many are left, and what they are worth in pay, following the UAE Government portal's leave page and Article 29 of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, the UAE Labour Law. The rules are federal, so they apply in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and every other emirate.
How much leave. At least 30 days of fully paid leave for each year of service. When service is more than six months but less than a year, leave builds up at 2 days for each month. Nothing is earned in the first six months. In a later year the calculator counts the months since your last anniversary at 2.5 days each, the proportion the law gives for part of a year.
What a day is worth. Pay for unused leave, and for leave earned in part of a year, is calculated on the basic salary, without allowances. The law counts a month as 30 days, so a day is the monthly basic ÷ 30: AED 266.67 on AED 8,000.
A worked example. A full leave year earns 30 days. With 10 taken, 20 are left, worth 20 × AED 266.67 = AED 5,333.33.
When service ends. Every unused day is paid, however many, together with leave earned in the final part-year. Days carried over with your employer's approval count too.
Not included. Part-time workers, whose leave follows their hours, contracts that give more than 30 days, unpaid leave that does not count as service, and company rules on carrying leave over. An estimate, not legal advice.

A private-sector employee gets at least 30 days of fully paid annual leave for each year of service. Between six months and one year of service, leave builds up at 2 days for each month, and nothing is earned in the first six months. A contract may give more.
Pay for unused leave, and for leave earned in part of a year, is calculated on the basic salary, without allowances. The UAE portal and Article 29 of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 both say so. On AED 8,000 basic each day is worth AED 266.67.
Divide the monthly basic salary by 30 to get the daily wage, then multiply by the unused leave days. Someone on AED 8,000 basic with 20 unused days at the end of service is owed 20 × AED 266.67, which comes to AED 5,333.33.
Yes. When service ends for any reason, the employee is paid for every unused day of annual leave, however many, and for leave accrued in the part of the final year worked. The payment uses the basic salary and is part of the final settlement.
None for the first six months. Once service passes six months, the employee earns 2 days of leave for each month worked, so 8 months of service gives 16 days and 11 months gives 22. After a full year the entitlement becomes 30 days.
With the employer's approval and under the company's rules, unused leave can be carried into the following year. An employer may not stop an employee taking leave accrued for more than two years, unless the employee chooses to carry it forward or take cash instead.
