Resigning does not reduce it. On a QAR 10,000 basic wage, seven years earn 147 days, QAR 49,000.

Workers in Qatar are owed an end-of-service gratuity (مكافأة نهاية الخدمة) when they leave after a year or more. This calculator applies Article 54 of the Labour Law, Law No. 14 of 2004, as the Qatari Legal Portal Al Meezan publishes it, to your basic wage and your dates.
The rule. The employer pays a gratuity to a worker who has completed one full year of service. The amount is agreed between the two parties, but it may not be less than three weeks' wage for each year of service, and fractions of a year are paid in proportion to the time served. The worker's last basic wage is the basis: housing, transport and other allowances are not part of it.
Three weeks in days. The law does not say how a week's wage is worked out. The usual practice divides the monthly basic by 30, so three weeks are 21 days, 0.7 of a month. A contract may give more, such as 28 or 30 days a year; enter what yours says.
| Service | Days at the legal minimum | On QAR 10,000 basic |
|---|---|---|
| Under 1 year | none | QAR 0 |
| 1 year | 21 | QAR 7,000 |
| 5 years | 105 | QAR 35,000 |
| 7 years | 147 | QAR 49,000 |
| 10 years | 210 | QAR 70,000 |
Resignation and dismissal. Unlike Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, Qatar's law has no reduction for resigning: a worker who resigns after a full year keeps the whole gratuity. It is lost only on a dismissal under Article 61, which lists serious misconduct such as forged documents, assault, disclosing secrets or more than seven days in a row of absence without a reason.
What it does not do. The employer may deduct sums the worker owes, and an employer whose retirement scheme gives more need not pay the gratuity as well (Article 56). Neither is modelled. Service is counted in Gregorian years from your dates.

Qatar's Labour Law pays at least three weeks of the last basic wage for each year of service, with part years in proportion, once one full year is done. At 21 days a year and basic ÷ 30, seven years on QAR 10,000 earn 147 days, which is QAR 49,000.
Yes. Article 54 of Labour Law No. 14 of 2004 takes the worker's last basic wage as the basis, so housing, transport and other allowances are left out. A worker on QAR 8,000 basic and QAR 4,000 of allowances has the gratuity worked on QAR 8,000 only.
No. The Qatar Labour Law has no reduction for resigning: a worker who resigns after one full year keeps the whole gratuity of at least three weeks' basic wage a year. The gratuity is lost only on a dismissal under Article 61 for serious misconduct, such as forged documents or assault.
No gratuity is owed under one full year of service, because Article 54 pays it to a worker who has completed a year or more. From the first full year, part years count in proportion: one year and six months at 21 days a year earns about 31.5 days of basic wage.
Yes. Article 54 lets employer and worker agree the gratuity, provided it is not less than three weeks' wage a year. Contracts often give 28 or 30 days; at 30 days a year, seven years on QAR 10,000 basic earn QAR 70,000 instead of QAR 49,000.
Five years at the legal minimum of 21 days a year earn 105 days of the last basic wage. On QAR 10,000 basic, with a day's wage of QAR 333.33, the gratuity is QAR 35,000, and resigning instead of being let go leaves the same amount.
